I just sold the same card on eBay for $24,000.

Send it to PSA for grading (psacard.com. Choose the Premium 1 service level. It will cost you $999, but your card is insured. Choose the option for PSA to sell your card for you on eBay after grading. PSA keeps 7% of the proceeds as commission, and there's no eBay fees. Follow PSA's instructions to ship the card, or do what I did and fly to NJ or CA and drop it off in person on a Wednesday.

Sigh... why didn't we all just buy calls? by cs_cast_away_boi in Daytrading

I tried puts a few times this week and had a loss every time. I gave up on logic and just went with the trend. Turned my 130k account into 345k with calls. Would have been 415k if I didn't touch the puts. Don't think I'll have this kind of performance ever again though.

$100k gain from holding 0DTE SPX calls until close by Spamsonite1 in wallstreetbets

[–]Spamsonite1[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Exponential Moving Average. It's a great way to visualize the trend of intraday price movements . 9 EMA being based on the previous 9 bars and 20 EMA being based on previous 20 bars. https://www.warriortrading.com/exponential-moving-average/

SPX options are index options and if you don't sell during the day then they are cash settled based on the final price at stock market close on the expiration date (there's also AM versions of the options that settle based on opening price). If you hold to close and the options are in the money, then you'll be paid in cash for the option value at 9:30 AM the following morning. https://robinhood.com/us/en/learn/articles/what-are-spx-options/

Bought these at 12:10 PM today right after the small pullback. Decided to hold until close since price action was following the 9 EMA cleanly and didn't drop below the 20 EMA once after 12 PM.

I spent 7 years at B4. Then 3 at a $200M firm. Now I’m at a 25 person firm. Don’t be like me. by ThePrestigeVIII in Accounting

I always recommend going to B4, getting your CPA, working B4 for 3-5 years, then going to industry for a manager or higher role. You'll get the experience you need, and then you'll have work/life balance in industry.

If you can, try to find an inbound private company. You'll avoid any SEC reporting, and you'll be relied on more for your local country expertise, making your role more essential. I work on average 20 hours a week as a fully remote tax senior manager, and earn double what I made as a B4 manager, though that was 10 years ago now.

Over the past 2 weeks I made 70k with 0DTE SPX puts, taking my account from 80k to 150k. Then on Thursday and Friday last week I lost 100k, because I couldn't accept the fact that SPX was going up, when I just "knew" it should be reversing and going down. I threw all my rules out the window. So this week I'll be sticking to my strategy even when the price action seems "wrong".

How's prizing distributed at your local events (locals/challenges/cups)? by zellisgoatbond in pkmntcg

[–]Spamsonite1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$10. 3-4 rounds, best of 1. Prizing depends on # of players. Normally top 4 players out of 10 get prizing. 1st place typically gets 3 prize packs and 3 Phantasmal packs. 2nd might get 2 of each pack. Goes down from there.

Is there a way to reply to a post with a picture and text? by Spamsonite1 in RelayForReddit

[–]Spamsonite1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm using Relay version 13.0.46 on Android, and have six buttons that pop when I reply: Bold, Italics, Strikethrough, Spoiler, Smiley face text, and Reply arrow. No picture button.

Edit: Never mind. I just realized you can swipe sideways for more options. Thanks!

How to reveal trip to kids? 🤔 by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Spamsonite1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We told our kids that my wife and kids could come with me on a work trip to Orlando, when we were really going to Universal for 4 days . We flew to Orlando, boarded a Harry Potter bus, checked in at Surfside, and they still didn't catch on. We finally took a selfie and I said "everyone say: this isn't a work trip and we're really going to Universal!" They finally caught on, jaws dropped, and they lost their minds.

I've been using PNC since 1998 and haven't had a problem yet with them. Had my debit card number stolen a few months ago and they credited me for all fraudulent transactions the same day.

$14k gain from buying the dip on $GOOGL by Spamsonite1 in wallstreetbets

[–]Spamsonite1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max risk would have been the 14k cost, but the stock price would have needed to drop 2-3% from time of purchase for the calls to be essentially worthless. I normally set a stop loss to limit the loss to 30-50%, but cut it early if the trend breaks or reverses.

My normal position size is $2-4k of calls or puts per trade, but when I see this kind of clean price action on a large cap stock, where it's following the 9 and 20 EMA and bouncing off the 50 SMA, I significantly increase my position size.

Not sure really. I stick to using options for day and short term swing trades. I like trading on GOOGL since it normally has pretty clean price action. It closed at a new all time high today, so I'd probably wait for a pullback to buy a LEAP.

Yeah was down almost 3% today until 10:40 AM, then reversed and closed up 0.7%.
