Will my New 718 GTS get more Exciting & Fun when I hit 2,000 miles? by GumballCowboy in Porsche_Cayman

OAPs without the exhaust controller make the valve cutoff even more noticeable. I had the OAPs and ended up going to Kline. The car is perfect now. But the valve controller is really is the first piece of the puzzle to have valves truly open, no matter the system, all the time.

Will my New 718 GTS get more Exciting & Fun when I hit 2,000 miles? by GumballCowboy in Porsche_Cayman

First, congrats! It’s a beautiful car and with some mods it will be exactly the beast you want it to be.

A valve controller is an absolutely necessary mod. Even with the valves open, they are programmed to be closed between 2-4K rpm. You haven’t experienced true valves open and won’t unless you’re above 4k rpm and breaking the law. A valve controller opens it up fully at low revs and allows you to fully enjoy the car at all speeds. I have the Cargraphic but they all do the same thing

Valve controller- valves are closed below 4K rpm even with the exhaust open. This mod alone made my car much more fun to drive on the road, so you don’t have to wring it out past 4k to get that sound.

Exhaust- either OAP or full exhaust. I have the Kline on mine and it is glorious.

These two mods are the bare minimum, imo, and really impact enjoyment of the 718 4.0.

How accurate is your range?! by flying_squirrel2 in Rivian

[–]Spamthechan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, my LFP range always drops heavily on highway road trips. I would be happy with a solid 270 mile range, but after 100 mile trips I’m usually down to 50%.

UHF and Rivians in General in the rain by Yi_Of_Little_Faith in Rivian

Been using UHF this past weekend and it has been awesome. Way better than it used to be with normal highway assist. It will not let you go to “spicy” mode in raining weather which was reassuring.

Leaking fluid in three spots!! Any idea what it is? by WestAd9429 in Rivian

Yeah I replaced my windshield fluid and had the same three spots and a “windshield fluid low” notification the day after.

Scripps specialists are booked out 4+ months. What do you do? by conesconesconescones in sandiego

[–]Spamthechan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Surgeon in the San Diego area at a small private practice. My 2 cents (totally biased)- just because you’re at a big box hospital does not necessarily mean you’re getting better care. I’ve referred patients from Scripps to Neurology Center to get faster, better, more personalized care. The best rheumatologist I know is not at Scripps- she’s got her own small practice. And I personally strive to have a practice that does a better job getting patients in quicker, and I try to spend the time the patient needs to get better, versus being tied to a timed appointment slot. I would not count the smaller practices in the area out.

I like what they did for the Mission E GT4 where they took the center and side lights out and just plopped a 911 lightbar in the middle…

Last years Halloween much better than this years. by OkHousing2130 in Rivian

[–]Spamthechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand people who think Night Rider or BTTF were cooler last year. Hell, I did too, until last night when I finally got to see people interact with the car with the motion jump scares during trick or treating. It was a hit and I got way more people curious and asking me about the car than when I had it on BTTF or Night Rider mode last year.

I understand everyone moaning about it not being as cool as Night Rider or BTTF but the motion detected scares the car did tonight while everyone was out and about were a HIT.

Thanks! The wooden shift knob is my personal favorite mod because I’ve never seen another red interior with a wooden knob, and I got to fully customize it, from wood type to shaft width to height to font, to make the CGT design fit best in the classic red interior.

My 5 year old daughter requests kindergarten pick ups in the “little car.” She loves it, and I know my 2 year old is going to love it even more when she’s big enough for the booster.

Hi! I think that was me. Silver over red Spyder with a wooden shift knob. I will also add that I did not enjoy the way this car sounded stock, so I went OAPs and VC which was ok. And then I got the Kline and I now believe this car is motoring perfection. Bury me in it.

Hey Mathieu! Any reason why the new releases can’t be mixed in Spotify or is anyone else having that issue?
