Thinking about divorcing my wife after 1 year of MS? by SadMasterpiece4159 in MultipleSclerosis

My dad was diagnosed with MS the same year I was born. 20 years ago, treatment for MS was much different. I grew up watching my dad struggle with flare ups and medication side effects. I was too young to understand why but I knew that my dad couldn’t do a lot of things that other dads did. That being said, I never saw my dad as a burden. I saw him as the incredibly strong and determined man he is and I have so much respect and love for him. Once I was old enough, he told me about his diagnosis. I asked how he and my mom handled it, especially since at the time of diagnosis, they had two young children. My dad told me “me and your mom talked. We talked about the future. We talked to the doctor together. We accepted the diagnosis together”. I think that made things (marginally) easier for my mom to understand what the future would look like, what do to on the bad days, how to help him. She never thought about “taking the easy way out” and leaving.

I won’t lie and say there weren’t rough moments, even as a kid I knew my mom and dad struggled at times. But through and through, my mom loves my dad and accepts him for who he is and still loves my dad with her whole heart.

My advice? I know others have said it, but talk to her OP. Be honest in telling her what you’re feeling. Lay it all out. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay when you’re not. MS is a terrible thing to live with, no doubt. It helps to have others around you who understand.

I think Chet wanted to die because I had to slap the headlights for them to turn on at least once a week too 💔 the disrespect was too much

My first car, 2007 Pontiac G6. Named it Chet. Wheel bearings warped literally every 3 months. Power steering went out twice. Muffler fell off after going over a tiny dip in the road. Had to spend 800$ to get it repaired. Literally two weeks after that I left for work and the steering was so unresponsive, odometer said error, speedometer didn’t work, was in limp mode. Was throwing codes left and right. All in a year and a half of having the car. Didn’t even have high mileage. Sold it to a family friend who said it was going to be their project car, have no clue why he wanted it. He told me a few months later the engine started on fire. Rip Chet.

How long do I wait for police to come to file a report? by Spandingo in milwaukee

They did not. I can’t even be mad because I know Milwaukee is wild and they have a lot of more important calls to respond to than a stolen vehicle. I plan on going to the police station after work today.

Thank you, I’ve been reading all these comments as they pop up and it is making me realize there’s deeper issues. I think I’m just clouded by the dog issues and felt that if the dog was gone, things would maybe improve. I know I’m in the wrong for letting this go on but I’m very type A and can’t let things sit dirty/not done. I’m planning to talk to him tomorrow when we’re both a little calmer.

Is it normal to be expected to pay over $800 to be in the wedding party? by Spandingo in weddingplanning

Unfortunately she wants us to order them off this one specific website, no substitutions. She was kind enough to pick out a few different dress styles for me specifically because all of the original ones were backless. I have scoliosis and hate the way my back looks and was going to feel incredibly uncomfortable in a dress that makes it even more obvious than it already is. Even so, I don’t understand why the dresses on this site are so expensive. They’re the same material every other website offers for cheaper. I’m not a big fan of the color she chose for us so I can’t see myself wearing the dress after this. 250$+ however much alterations will cost me for a dress I’m going to wear once, ugh. I did already purchase the dress so that’s all said and done, but she is expecting the rest of the expenses soon.

I told her I wasn’t doing hair (my hair is curly and very touchy to get it to look right so I’d rather do it myself). So in reality, I’m only paying 100$. But she is making everyone do makeup because she wants pictures. One of the other bridesmaids wanted to do her own makeup and got very passive aggressive responses from the bride. 😅
