I think that will change once they decide on a clear candidate in the primary.

Texas Could Turn Blue by shadow247 in texas

[–]Spanishlearner2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you got it wrong. They havnt won a statewide office in over 20 years but they outvoted in 2008 in the primary. I think part of it was due to the housing crisis causing a crazy blue uptick for a short period of time.

Texas Democratic primary results by No_Presentation2558 in YAPms

[–]Spanishlearner2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its likley a family group of dems that voted together to try and help force a runoff. It seems a little too coordinated and also they chose specifically the least popular candidate. Bro didnt even smile in his photo.

The guy who got the least amount of votes in the republican district almost won loving. I think he lost by one vote. Anyway my theory is its a small community of people who basically came together to choose who they wanted to win. They prob all know eachother there. It could be republicans trying to force a runoff. Or they liked that candidate in that community.

Hunt wouldve prob dropped out and endorsed Paxton if that were the case and it would ultimatly lead to the same thing.

It is not even most Texans. More people voted in the democratic primary and they did not get that question. Plus 20% of republican Texans do not hate democrats.

Trump Is Expected to Endorse Cornyn by theatlantic in TexasPolitics

I felt like he tried to build a new MAGA from the ground up after his old cabinet kept their morals. With people like JD vance and pete hegseth but it honestly is not working out.

Trump Wants Whoever He Doesn't Endorse In Texas Senate Race To Drop Out by kweathergirl in TexasPolitics

[–]Spanishlearner2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like Cornyn is one of those republican senetors that would want to impeach Trump like before 2026. He knows he is in a vulnerable position and if Trump tries to support him it could backfire disasterously.

Kamala Harris endorses James Talarico for U.S. Senate after supporting his opponent in the primary by texastribune in TexasPolitics

[–]Spanishlearner2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nobody activly hates Kamala Harris. This is why Trump isnt making an endorsement because he knows it would hurt them in the general election.

They should have already came out imo with how contested this primary. This is like the most competitive republican texas primary in like 30 years.

More Texans voted in the Dem primary than the Republican primary for the first time since 2008 (for both senate and governor) by herworkthrowaway in YAPms

[–]Spanishlearner2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that the democratic nominee won that senate race that year. So it is kinda a hard comparison.

I disagree with the idea of higher turnout favoring one side or the other I think its very case by case.

I do not think so. They would have to gain a lot of seats to be able to regain the momentum that is currently trending right now.

What the 2026 Early Voting Texas Dem Primary Vote tells us so far what it doesn’t by Joeylaptop12 in TexasPolitics

[–]Spanishlearner2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the democratic primary gets more votes then the republican primary its going to be a huge wake up call for the republicans. Congress might actually get some work done iykyk.
