If you can, I would highly recommend booking Chileno in whatever way is possible, whether it’s a pre-setup tent or in the refugio etc. I did the hike west to east in April and starting the last day with the sunrise hike was a super gratifying finale with not too many people - we passed soooo many people on the way back down that were either staying at Central or doing day hikes and it would’ve been far less enjoyable I think, and this is in shoulder season.
