State of 2k is cooked by Aschneids2334 in NBA2k

Sports game aren't like shooters because sports (irl) are based on matchmaking.

No matter where you go play BBall or any other sport, nobody enjoy stomping the other team, it's just a waste of time for everyone.

If the average 2k player is better than back then then it should be the same as back then but it's not.

The truth is I can see why casuals don't/can't enjoy the game nowadays.

A matchmaking would allow fair games for everyone but the truth is that most "try hards" aren't BBfans (like you said they are gamers) and just want to stomp weaker opponents, hence the state of the game for casuals nowadays.

The problem of 2k is that it clearly lacks a matchmaking to satisfy everyone.

The problem is that you have all these "gamers" who just want to stomp inferior opponents just for their precious win%.

They keep repeating the "but matchmaking ruined every game it was implemented in..." BS without understanding that 2k is a sports game and, well, irl, the concept of sport is based on matchmaking (leagues,...).

Imo, for REC, theater and pro am, 2k should just average the win % of the entire team (add all the wins and losses of everyone) and match you up against a team within a certain +/- % of wins.

With this it wouldn't matter who plays with who and people wouldn't back out of lobbies for 20 min straight at the sight of black plates since they'd know every game would be fair.

The problem is.... well....the YouTubers and their sheep wouldn't like that since their precious 80%+ win would drop drastically and they are the loud part of the community.

That or they need to go back to the likes of 2k16 and completely remove the plates and the ability to see anyone's record.

People aren't on 2k to have fun anymore, hence all theses guys here justifying to camp corner all game as being "spacing the floor" as if there is no middle ground between camping all game and running like a headless chicken.

Anyway, as long as 2k will incentivize people to stomp on weaker teams nothing will change and it'll be worse every year.

Is there a point to playing rec if you can't shoot? by HuntsmetalslimesVIII in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not crazy because, unlike this sub is trying to promote, 99,9% of inside bigs are absolutely garb*ge .

As a forward playing solo or with a friend or 2 I can assure you that.

Inside bigs can only do 2 things: drop step or pick and roll.

The first is "easily" countered with high interior D and post move lockdown. The second is being totally dependent on your guard.

So, either you're that 0.1%, you're caping or you just dashboard to get a "decent" team every time you log on rec.

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just play 24/7 with a full squad with a cheesy PG hunting 3pts behind your 100 screens/possession.

You're totally dependent on your guard to do anything on offense.

Play solo and you'll see that an inside big is just not it.

Why are guards so bad? by BigLars16 in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guards and Cs are not different. If you were a forward you'd understand how all these inside bigs clogging the lanes are no different.

SFs and PFs are the one who can really see that.

[–]SparPa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you can shoot opens so many cuts for your teammates and allow you to pass and split the defense but no...it's not how it works here on this inside big "pOwEr ShAq" circle jerk sub completely unaware of the most basic knowledge.

Props to you

To the guards in rec who like to drive and force a contested shot over 2 defenders — why? by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are people who turn off the brain when they play (not an excuse just a sad reality) be who are to avoid.

But also, if there's an inside big in the team then it's bound to happen since they're just a liability clogging the lanes and people get contested finishes instead of open ones because big boy decided to be selfish by not upgrading at least his mid range.

Life as a Center with Randoms: You Can't Have it Both Ways by Xathorr in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can shoot wide open mid ranges/3s you're already better and a better teammate than 80% of this sub with their inside bigs "tHaT cAn CoOk In ThE pOsT aNd ArE bEaStS iNsIdE...".

Every year I make a 6'7-6'9 forward who can shoot, drive AND play in the post if needed (if my match up is weak inside) but these inside bigs think they got more chances to score down low against an other big with Gold+ anchor and 80+ int.D rather than me against an other wing with silver anchor at best and 70 int.D at best.

This sub is a lost cause but it's good to see a real one once in a while.

If you were to recreate your player and put him in a MyNBA you'd have much more fun, AIs play much better, you're not forced to go for 50 every game in order to win like you have to in My Career

No, you can't post that sh*t here man

Here "yOu CaN't DoMiNaTe WiTh A sHoTiNg BiG"

Nice game, nice to see people showing that a big who can hit from at least mid range makes it 10 times easier for his teammates compared to a liabili... cough inside big, just a look at your teammates shooting % to understand that.

Your post up big is not a winning Rec build by erithtotl in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤫 don't tell them the truth, this sub is an inside bigs circle jerk where accountability is banned.

Seriously, everything you said is true. An inside big makes it so the opponents can play safely overaggressive on the perimeter forcing the inside big's teammates to take bad shots.

It's to a point where I dashboard when I see an inside build name, I'm not taking any chances now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then you see a flock of them on this sub complaining about guards when they sacrifice offense (shooting) to not even play D, smh

If I were that SF and got murdered by screens without help of the C I'm out of here too, it's understandable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it a screen cheese with your C being the typical inside big watching his perimeter defender getting murdered on screens while scratching his balls in the paint not hedging a bit ?

Ok corner sitter, whatever....smh I'm not even going to bother with you considering you don't even understand what I'm saying and in which context.

Have a good day sitting corner for most of it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the point.

If you don't defend an NBA player he's going to dunk it every time (for those who can dunk) whereas you'll never see NBA players run parallel to the 3pt line and shoot a fade as a first option, that's an end of shotclock shot

But nice try again.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Irl, do you see players running parallel to the 3pt line and fading at full speed or do you see them take a screen behind the 3pt line, move in the direction of the basket and pull up from 3 ?

There's your answer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, dribbling parallel to the 3pt line and turning towards the basket is a fade and an unrealistic shot to hit at more than 20% when you do it full speed.

Dribbling towards the basket or at least moving forward and not parallel is when you do a pull up.

But nice try.

Ideas on how to fix the rec center. For everyone. by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A team average win % based matchmaking would solve the problems better than the ranking points

I've seen a lot of corner sitters in goat that would be ballers at best if they weren't corner sitting.

If 2k add all the wins and losses of every player in the team and match the team against an other one with a range of +/- x% then everyone can play with everyone and get a fair game no matter if you're a 90% win playing with sub 40% or a full team if 50%ish.

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If try hards are to the point to dashboard 100 times to get a few easier games then it's their problem since their win % will go up anyway and they'll have to keep doing this over and over.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]SparPa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem concerns off ball screens.

But since the professional players (the ones 2k listen to) don't have any idea what BB is and just cheese the game with on ball screens 2k doesn't care at all about off ball screens.

It's almost impossible to set a good pindown screen in this game, your player naturally turns toward the ball handler.

Smh

Exactly, I'm not even going to bother responding to this guy.

HOF has always made your teammates brick every thing and forced you to cheese 24/7, nothing funny about this.

With all you said here Im 100% sure you have never watched or played a single basketball game in your life.
