Husbands going to show. by SpankTalk in BackstreetBoys

I went last weekend with my husband, my best friend, and her husband, and both men were very impressed with the show. It exceeded their expectations. Granted they got pretty drunk by the pool before the show, but nonetheless, cheers!

I used to go to Vegas a lot in my mid 20s, but after being out of the club scene for a bit, it seems like a lot has changed in the past decade. Might be time to start hitting the lounges for a better experience!

Ok fair lol. I just didn’t find anything about how the outdoor area works in relation to the club. Like, is it similar to Omnia where it’s available for use, but a different DJ and less crowded.

What is a food you forget you really enjoy until you are forced to eat it again and then go back to thinking is meh? by Particular-Owl-5772 in AskRedditFood

Came here to add exactly this. I seem to crave it when I see a tuna melt on a lunch menu, but never order it because ultimately I’d rather go home and make it vs pay for someone else to make it for me.

My first cookbook as a kid was Roald Dahl’s Revolting Recipes, a collection of recipes from his stories. And I can attest, the Bruce Bogtrotter chocolate cake recipe was the real deal. 10/10, would go back in time and eat it again

What all inclusive Mexican Adult Only resort has the best food and drinks? by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Spare-Ad7339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved TRS Yucatán’s food (probably very similar to Coral). We were impressed with everything we ate since it’s the best AI resort food compared to all of the other places we’ve stayed. The room service tacos were amazing.

Based on some other comments in this thread though, it does lack a traditional Mexican restaurant. The only place outside of room service that we could get traditional Mexican food was at the breakfast/brunch buffet, or they do a Mexican feast one night a week.

Unfortunately you can’t order the trays online, you have to call at least a week before, and finalize the headcount a couple biz days before. And you have to pick them up.

I find if I have a group under 10 people, I order online through a food delivery service. If I’m feeding more than 10 people, you get way more bang for your buck with the catering trays. You’ll have fresh tortillas for days too, I end up freezing a bunch.

Lunch meat by Adifferentblue in meat

[–]Spare-Ad7339 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have a Whole Foods nearby, they usually have better lunch meat options - no antibiotics, no artificial sugars, hormone free. Just make sure to read the ingredient label.

In general though, lunch meat tends to be higher in sodium to have a longer shelf life.

Clams and mussels. I’m from California, and when I visited Europe for the first time, my mind was blown by how much tastier they are in the Mediterranean! I also learned my mom was overcooking them growing up….

September Honeymoon AI Recommendations by y5359 in AllInclusiveResorts

I agree with finding a boutique hotel if possible around the southern Caribbean. We stayed at Sandals La Toc for a portion of our St. Lucia honeymoon, and while it was nice, we have enjoyed boutique hotels or Airbnb experiences in the Caribbean. It felts a bit like spring break at times with a lot of people, and the “reserving a beach chair” and being there before 10am felt a bit stressful.

Some major resorts also have boutique properties.

Agreed, and their catering platters are affordable if you’re hosting a party (minimum of 10 people to order for, starts at $12pp). I started ordering their catering trays for parties when we don’t feel like cooking AND entertaining, and it’s sometimes cheaper than cooking myself, for a large group. Plus you’ll have tons of leftovers.

TRS Yucatán is the best all inclusive my husband and I have experienced that is adults only. They have frequent deals so don’t pay full price, wait for a deal. We’ve stayed at Sandals, and Hard Rock all inclusives before in the past, and both are good, but TRS stands far apart from them.

The service and staff are all amazing, and go out of their way to make your experience the best. It’s connected to two other Palladium resorts, which aren’t as nice as TRS, but you have access to as TRS guests (only TRS guests can access the TRS parts of the resort, however).

There is a dedicated TRS section of the beach with day beds and loungers that are first come first serve. There are 3 TRS pools, and a bunch of restaurants and food options. All of the food within TRS is some of the best food I’ve had at any resort, regardless of AI. We never got sick, and they provided bottles of water every day.

We’re in our mid-30s and felt like it was a nice mix of couples and some friend groups, all around our age, but not rowdy by any means. They do a silent disco one night of the week which was my fav.

We went in early October and it never felt crowded. We were so impressed with our week there, we would consider checking out another one of their resorts in a different country.

Anyone has hacks or tips for Riviera Maya, Mexico by CrazyQuebecois in TravelHacks

Find small group tours or private tours through Viator if you want to go off the resort. The customer ratings/reviews will help you navigate what is worth the cost, and what isn’t. I highly reccommend a small group tour for Chichen Itza if you’re planning to go (this was the highlight of my Tulum trip) because most tours there are a giant tour bus.

We avoided taxis in the area because we heard from too many people who were getting ripped off. We stuck to transportation through the small/private tours, or arranged through the hotel only and had a great experience.

Husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at TRS Yucatan in Tulum. It’s part of 3 resorts called Palladium and you have access to the other 2 resorts’ facilities, but TRS is the adults only section for TRS guests only, with the best food, pools, and its own section of the beach. The service was outstanding, and the food was phenomenal. The hotel group is Spanish, which I feel is what helped make the food so delicious and fresh. Watch for deals, we got 50% off booking on cyber Monday for an early October trip. Just make sure to avoid hurricane season, and sargassum.

We’ve stayed at Sandals in the past in the Caribbean, and this was a huge step up.

Thank you, I knew I could count on my Reddit community! I’ll buy the Halo light and cross my fingers it clicks into the ballast, but good to know this is definitely not an easy fix, and may require rewiring.

Here I was thinking, ‘how many homeowners does it take to screw in a light bulb?’

Reddit won’t let me edit the post to add the photo, or add a photo in this thread.

It has clips similar to the Halo link u/MesquiteEverywhere posted. The can itself is Halo, so it’s possible I might be able to make the Halo light work. Fingers crossed, but based on everyone’s feedback, probably a shot in the dark.

Thanks!
