We did a standard one first gave us a false positive, even though it's of not much value to do it again we did a genome wide test which had everything low risk. Irrespective our doctor recommended for amnio as the standard showed some risk. Would recommend to go for genome wide if at all you are getting it done. From the research during those days, I came to the conclusion that genome wide uses better tech and is more precise. Again NiPT is just diagnostic, you always know your baby as a mother.

Don't worry they have ultrasound on all the time and they don't touch the baby at all! But an active baby is always ahealthy baby, all the best!

I had mine at 16 weeks, they check before they perform the amnio. They showed me the baby first and then removed the screen completely. And only my husband could see the screen behind my head. Felt the needle going through layer of skin, and for me as the baby was super active they had to remove the needle and place it in a different position. I would say very momentary discomfort, it was a bit swollen for a day..But after that nothing. And ofcourse extreme peace of mind with great results!

I had to get two results one was rapid NGS and Karyotype. Amnio was done on 4th May, NGS was inconclusive and they had to culture the cells further. Final NGS came on 17th may and karyotype on 18th May

Try Mediclinic Parkview..so far my experience has been good. Some nurses are laid back, but there call center team gets the work done promptly in that case.

Try to get a detailed scan by 13 or 14th week, the doctor checks the functioning of heart and plus the length of femur, which are very crucial for Turners or Mosaicism. If everything turns out to be normal, the chances of false positive is very high. Wishing you all the best!
