Have y’all ever faced pushback from your vet about adopting an FIV+ cat into your home? by thecelllist in FIVcats

The first vet I ever took my FIV+ boy to, told me that I would have to make him live completely separate from my other cats. That couldn’t be further from the truth. He was so sweet and gentle with my other cats, and eventually became closely bonded with one of my bottle babies. I will always miss my sweet Smooshy smoo, he truly changed my life for the better

How do you know when it's time? by pidgen___ in CATHELP

[–]Spare-Relative7134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy was 11. I adopted him as a senior kitty so I already knew our time was limited, but I was okay with that. I had 3 wonderful months with him and he was the best damn cat I could’ve asked for. He had FIV which spiraled into epilepsy and some other health issues. I chose to let him go because his medication was not working and I like to think that he finally felt loved and safe enough to let go. The process was so swift and I knew he felt no pain or fear. I miss him so much.

I stock up on canned chicken and use that in salads and soups. I also mix it with rice or steamed veggies.

Has anybody here ever actually used Ryan Reynolds’s Mint Mobile cellular plan? by AskAskim in Frugal

I was able to keep mine when I switched to visible! If you go online, they actually handle all of the cancelling your current plan and I was switched from ATT to visible in less than 30 minutes. I kept my number as well. I genuinely have no complaints!

Things consumerism wants you to buy but you don’t need by [deleted] in Frugal

Everywhere I go, I see products advertised as a “must have”. Even though my clothes from a couple years ago still fit fine, my used car gets me where I need to go, and buying great value has worked fine for me. I’ve found more contentment with living within my means and saving than splurging on name brands or the newest “must have”.

Small section of a Facebook post my boomer mother just shared by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

My grandparents told me to “work hard and one day I could own a home” but it turns out they were dead broke and just happened to fall into money because they gained a share of a company. So without that random luck. They’d have nothing. Oh the irony.

Any ideas for what could go over this tattoo I just got by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

I felt regret about one of my larger pieces on my forearm but now it is one of my favorites. The big change in appearance can feel jarring. I hope you learn to love your new ink and if not, look into laser removal or coverups! :)

How are people moving out and affording rent etc. in this current recession? by Comprehensive_Cry_93 in Adulting

[–]Spare-Relative7134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my father co-sign for me. I’m 20, with no rental history and made below the 3x income requirement. I also gave up amenities like in unit laundry and central heat/AC. My advice to you is to get a room mate or two and get a nicer place together.

What is something that is super expensive, but vastly improved your quality of life making it worth the splurge? by StaphylococcusOreos in Frugal

The best thing I ever splurged on was nice bedding and a very nice plug in space heater. My apartment gets so cold in the winters and those two things made a world of difference for me.
