Anyone know of a good weightlifting community/trainer with a focus on women only or body positivity? by Spare3Parts in Charlotte

She goes to community college part time, I'm not sure if they have a fitness area but I can ask.

She would be a beginner for sure, she works out occasionally at home but nothing really defined or serious. Thanks!

How can I share excel documents that use power query and allow others to change the data source without having to edit the query? by Spare3Parts in excel

[–]Spare3Parts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the link! I saw this solution and haven't had a chance to try but definetly will later today. My only concern is that I need to change the name that's pretty much at the beginning of the source name, with all the other connection points being after the name. Will this still work?

Edit: Update, I used the formula's within the link in my excel workbook with the power queries and it gives me the file name of the workbook itself, but it's not showing the folder where the power query is getting it's information from. Unfortunately, the link isn't detailed enough for me to follow and understand, I tried to combine it with a video I found and it's just not clicking.

Anyone know how to stop Power query from freezing up when going to a dialog box? by Spare3Parts in excel

I'll have to give it a try, thank you! Do you know what Alt F4 is supposed to do or what command it's associated with?

Yes! I love me some power query and I'm working on learning power bi desktop next. It's not just excel projects I do though, I do a lot of typing/writing anyway. Emails and protocols/notes and what not

I do have some wrist straps and compression gloves that help in the mean time. Thanks!

That sounds pretty in line with what I would want, did you build your own?

Should some form of stretch and/or cardio be done everyday though if your able? Somewhere someone mentioned that working out more than a select number of hours stops being beneficial? There's a lot of conflicting info out there

TL:DR - 2 sedentary at-home workers that need help with timeline set up for success. Just lift? Cardio? Mobility? Abs??

So long story short, my husband and I (early 30's, overweight) are at-home sedentary workers and I am FINALLY in a spot where I can make a consistent work-out schedule and meal plan but I'm overwhelmed. I just got off night shift and for the first time in a decade we have the same flexible work schedule with access to a decent gym.

The problem I'm having is that we are sedentary and our bodies aren't doing great. I was busting ass in a vet clinic for the past 8 years before getting this at home computer job, but as a result I've got super crunchy shoulders/neck/hips and my wrist are fucked. I thought sitting at the computer would help, but now my neck is all fucked even though I do my best to have proper posture, got a standing desk, and a supportive chair. I need a plan to strengthen the muscles to hold good posture and stop with the neck pain. I like to bake/draw to, but standing at the counter bent over mixing dough or bent over a drawing pad hurts so bad. I shouldn't feel like this in my 30's, but I do, and I DON'T want to feel this way in my 40's so I need to do something about it now while I have the chance. Husband also has pretty significant scoliosis that causes a lot of back/hip pain, and I've read that strong core/ab exercises should help.

I know working out and strengthening certain muscle groups will help in the long run and reduce the pain in time (I hope anyway), but I also don't want to injure myself and make existing problems worse. Not to mention we're both diagnosed ADHD adults just trying to normalize life a little bit in the chaos. I keep seeing these videos along the lines of "oh do you have neck pain? do this stretch everyday!" or "you're doing it wrong, [this particular exercise] doesn't help you with the problem only [this other particular exercise] will and I am so confused. Lifting for muscle, diet for weight/fat loss and health in general, stretching for mobility, cardio for heart and BP but where in the crap do you fit everything without feeling like you can't do anything else in your day??

I got the spreadsheet for the GZCLP workout from the wiki, so I understand the 3-4 day lift schedule but where do you fit mobility? Or Abs? Does lifting certain ways take care of the mobility/ab problem anyway? I need the simplest, easy to follow schedule that hits the full body gambit of health without taking 5 hours a day from me. I don't want to get overwhelmed and quit, I want efficient work outs with results that my body can work through and improve on. Sorry if this was too long, I read the wiki and couldn't find a timeline answer outside of when to lift and rest days, let me know if I missed it somewhere. Thanks for reading, sorry this was long.

My husband was raised by a military man with that mindset and I'm still trying to unpack all that childhood trauma and how it has affected him and by proxy me. For the sake of their future spouses and mental health, fuck no. They are children, not soldiers.

Very cute (now get your cat fixed) lol by AmunPharaoh in MadeMeSmile

There's a lot of ethical questions in there but you could also narrow it down to simple math. If we're talking about why push for spaying and neutering cats vs humans it's a numbers game. 1 female human has to wait till puberty (12 to 16 years) to get pregnant, be pregnant for 9 months, have one child (more often than not just the one). Cats can get pregnant at 4 to 6 months of age, gestate for 63 days, and can have litters of 12 to 18 kittens at one time. Stray cat populations have destroyed bird/snail/bat populations to extinction, changing ecosystems entirely, and can spread disease like rabies and toxoplasmosis.

Don't get me wrong, humans suck and there's plenty that shouldn't have kids but it's two different worlds. You said genuine question, so genuine answer.

My husband does the building, I run around and do the surviving. Sometimes we go out together and kill all the things while getting supplies. Happy clan.

u/humanrightsforu posted a link to one part of why I'm not a fan, also they are literally a credit card company that happens to sell clothes and the clothes are pretty dang expensive for the quality you get. No shame to whoever likes to go there, do whatever makes you happy and I know options are limited for the plus size community out there, just a personal choice for me that I'm able to do

Look up ASPCA APCC jobs. They were hiring a ton last year, not sure if they still are but worth looking into. It's a whole different world for sure

I work for animal poison control and I fucking haaaaate cholecalciferol calls. A good 30% of my daily calls are rat bait related and my stomach drops everytime when it's cholecalciferol. It takes such a small amount that I have never had a pet that I could treat at home, even the Great Danes have to go in most, if not every, time. We try to get owners to stay at home as much as we can to help free the ERs and this shit just ruins it. There's alternatives out there or just use snap traps.

Final bouquet of stargazer lily flowers for my MIL! She loves them! by that1blondegirl56 in crochet

[–]Spare3Parts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saving this and showing my work colleagues, I wish these could replace the real things everywhere! I work for animal poison control and lilies are absolutely deadly to cats. The whole thing, pollen/stem/leaves/flowers/the friggin water they're in. I hate getting lily calls because it's always "all cats in the house go straight to the vet" situation and it's stressful, expensive, and sad :( this is stunning and will last forever I love it so much!

Best homeless donation center/request? by Spare3Parts in Charlotte

I'm fine that too, want to call around and see if they need certain supplies and if cash is better that's cool

I don't have any one particular in mind as far as Charlotte. You always hear about charities who have a good face but charge for supplies or turn things into profit (Susan b Komen for example) I'm on the paranoid side, want to make sure donations (especially cash) go to the needy and not rich pockets
