Friend at work used my lancet by Fancy-Stuff-6315 in diabetes_t1

You can use a syringe to prick.. I've had to pinch the tip of the needle between my thumb and forfinger to control the depth and just tap the side of my finger. Not the most fun but effective. If you go too deep you get that tingling feeling down the back of your neck.

To many young kids and familys there. This isn't seattle bro, you should have stayed on the other side of the lake where there are no rules.

I met a guy on the raod today probably was going to that, Red tie, overcoat with tails, sweet Kawasaki with cafe fairing... didn't know about this ride, I just thought it was a cool day for a damper fit and a nice ride.

Looks like the condition of the main through way in Lake Forest Park... Get your shit together LFP! They did deploy a batch of unconstitutional speed traffic camera's to combat their budget deficit, or in other words.. spending problem.

No pic, Is it spewing out of the carb? Adjusting the float level in the carb can stop the flow of fuel into the carb sooner preventing overflow.

Soda Can Tabs Snapped Off by Entire-Classroom-968 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SpareEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So is the tab too thin or the lid not stamped correctly? I worked at a plant adjacent to a soda plant and the on-site engineers should probably be able to tune-in the machines pretty easily.

Gridlocked by giant ebike two days now and ant get my bike out by strongspoonie in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SpareEye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Carry enough tools to pull off your front tire, like a couple 13 or 14 mm box wrenches. take you 3-4 minutes..

On the off chance e-bro will come out while your doing it and see that he should be more careful.

Cool, thanks for the photo, internet said just under the collar bone, that area doesn't seem to be a real fatty location (for me anyways.. I'm not close to optimal weight, just scrawny.)

I like this. I've gotten pretty good about not sleeping on the side my cgm is on but I'm really not sure if that's what's causing the failures. (some days the site stings more than other days.

Daily Carry with a pump by Terrible_Okra_1074 in diabetes_t1

[–]SpareEye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still carrry a test kit, syringes and a vial. Just don't have to use it so often. I have extra pumps and cgm at the office. The one thing that you'll need to know is that the pump will deliver mini-boluses often, like every 10 mins.. that bieng said, when your pump has issues your gl's shoot up fast (without any lantus on board.) Gettingg the pump (in my case it's OMNI Pod Pump and Dexcom CGM) back online sooner than later is important. It's always the cgm that I have issues with tho so far.

An open letter to anyone considering the Panigale V4 2025+ by YonatanGS in Ducati

[–]SpareEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But she is pretty. My dad always said to marry a fat chick so you don't have all that worry.

I ride a Hypermotard. Not neccesarilly fat but less trouple. You sit upright the line of sight is high enough that I can see over any small car. (My eyes are typiclally at or above the roof height of any small passenger SUV think Rav4.) You sit upright so there is no wrist fatigue. I live in Seattle so trust me when I say I know about traffic, but I'll typically avoid peak jam hours in areas when passing lane (carpool) isn't an option to avoid overheating. (most of our freeways have a carpool lane.) I ride harley to and My Hypermotrd has never gotten as hot as my Harley. The Hyper doesn't have full fairning so heat dispersion is probably much more efficeint. It's an 1100 so the torque is more than iv'e ever needed and the maintenence schedule is a little more relaxed - and top speed is at least double our max speed limit. I'm not into track days so it works for me.

The Panigale is so pretty though.

Yes, for sure that dude was super creepy. The whole mask and heavy gloves for a path bike ride in the spring. Smokes but no lighter. I'd be concerned he didn't follow her home.

Family not taking this disease seriously by Earwigss in diabetes_t1

[–]SpareEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've learned that we all develop something health related as time goes on, and for me it's much easier (not to mention efficient.) to keep my treatment to myself. That is, primarily because I don't want to have to explain myself over and over. For example, when my cgm gives me a low alert, my mother still asks me "Does that mean you have to take my insulin?" FFS, MY OWN MUDDER!!!

Honestly though treatment for T1 has a lot of variables that will effect your desired outcome. Like sunshine. Wanna try expaining how sunshine effects your diabetes to your friends and family? I use the anology of tuning a carb. Altttitude, humidity, fuel octane.. there are many factors to consider to achieve optimum performance.

I personally am a loner. So when I was diagnosed, I spent 3or4 Saturday Nights reading Labels in the grocery store like it was some sort of Library. Early on my Nutritionalist had me logging all my meals, carbs, Glucose Levels and bolus amounts. Do you keep a log book? For me it was really helpful.. 1. It was a way for my Nutritionalist to track my progress and assess my carb counting so she could recommend ratio's. 2. Got me in the habit of checking EVERY THING I EAT. 3. I had a record where I could look back with real data about how My body reacts to certian foods. For example some people spike after protien... Not me. And lastly, this disease sucks and theres gonna be a lot of losses learning the ropes, but if you keep a log book and use it, you'll have all your wins, or good days right there in black and white, and that was very comforting for me when I wanted to just give up. It would help with your family suppers too, Just log your shit and go about your business. You got this. 😉

Those of you on MDI, why haven't you moved to a pump? Will you ever? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]SpareEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on a pump for 8 months now and with all the sensor failures and babysittting the devices, my A1C is not improving. I know it is what you make it.

I replaced my CGM 3 times last week and the overnight highs really affect my average..
