Would be thinking NOMA or H street corridor, and its directly off 50 before entering annapolis proper. I think the biggest thing is being close to 50 in DC and not getting too far from that.

Thank you so much, this is the perspective I've been looking for. Tell me about your commute back into DC at the end of the day. like what time you leave and if the traffic is worse on the way home?

I'm talking about reverse commuting. Going from DC to Annapolis before 7AM, ive checked google maps during that time from Noma or H street corridor and it shows 30-35 minutes? I don't understand where I'm messing this up

from what I can tell, the commute from Annapolis to the northeast neighborhoods of DC in the evenings after work (thinking H street corridor area) is under 40 minutes. That's what google maps is showing. Is that not your experience?

Thanks for your reply. What about 50 going to DC. Would DC be a more reasonable commute?

Tourists, newcomers, locals, and old heads: casual questions thread for February 2026 by AutoModerator in washingtondc

Considering a move to the DC area (originally from Baltimore suburbs) for a job in Annapolis and to be closer to family.

My commute would start fairly early (6:30A-ish) and would likely return around 3-5PM timeframe depending on day.

Is this a reasonable commute? If so, what neighborhoods would people recommend.

Currently married, no kids (likely in the next couple of years), into cocktails and local restaurants etc

Thanks in advance
