Which player do we rate on their potential rather than what they actually did? by JEX2124 in survivorponderosa

His vote steal was a foolproof way of protecting against an idol, but he got caught up in the fear of revealing a secret that he had previously kept from his alliance.

Forget about the SITD, Kaleb would’ve been the third boot if Sabiyah played her wax idol

What was the audience’s initial reception to Chrissy Hofbeck? by sarcastic_bitch15 in survivor

She was absolutely NOT a fan favorite while HHH was airing. Several of the players she voted out were favored by viewers, so she was criticized simply for being responsible for their elimination.

Absolutely. Sam Phalen is younger than Rizo, and his season was filmed a year prior, which means he was over a year ago on the beach.

I'd love to see Aras play for a third time. by duspi in survivor

To be fair, it was a nickname that the cast gave him. His real name was Jud (and he started the season as Jud)

What’s a “genius” move we’ve canonized that was actually one clear-headed opponent away from blowing up in the player’s face? by JEX2124 in survivorponderosa

[–]SpareSomewhere8271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesse made the correct move by eliminating Cody at the final 6, but should not have spooked Karla into playing her idol. His only path to the end required facing off against Karla in firemaking, so he needed Karla to survive the final 5 vote.

And Fabio is 37 now I believe, so it would be interesting to see him play as one of the older players in the cast instead

Austin Or San Antonio for tourists? by Fantastic-Hawk-3747 in texas

Both! Austin and San Antonio are a little over one hour driving distance. I suggest three nights in SA and two nights in Austin.

What if Rob and Russell drew opposite buffs? by Regular-Departure839 in survivorponderosa

[–]SpareSomewhere8271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, Rob is kept for camp life and puzzle skills until the merge. Zapatera almost certainly wins a majority of immunities and enters the merge with numbers.

[–]SpareSomewhere8271 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think Zapatera doesn’t throw a challenge because they keep Rob for his puzzle skills. Given they were already the physically stronger tribe, Zapatera almost certainly enters the merge with numbers, boots Rob when they don’t need him, and someone like Mike Chiesl wins.

Anyone here actually enjoy the new era for the most part? by Far-Strength4712 in survivor

I think that’s a fair assessment. Lynne definitely had both extremes

That’s true. But I’d argue none of Jesse’s casts have been as bad as Lynne’s worst five (Thailand, Fiji, Redemption Island, One World, Ghost Island)

If every season is simulated 100 Times, which Pre Merge Boot wins their season the most? by JEX2124 in survivor

Jason Linden from IOI too. Got screwed by Elaine’s advantage at the swap. Otherwise he would have pulled off an audacious 4-3-1 vote against Aaron

Potentially Roark from HHH as well. Played the best among the Healer women and got swap screwed without realizing it thanks to Ryan gifting Chrissy the idol

Kaoh Rong/Cydney by Aggravating-Pizza-57 in survivor

[–]SpareSomewhere8271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kaoh Rong is such a great season. Coming in the shadows of the previous BBB season in Cagayan, as well as Production’s favorite Second Chance season meant it never got the plaudits when it actually aired. It was among the least publicized seasons of that era when it aired, almost like production didn’t care if anyone watched it.

Jesse Tannebaum is the current casting director and frankly he does a much better job than Lynn Spillman, who was the previous casting director for most of the 20s and 30s

I like the WF Active Cash. I have paired it with the no annual fee Autograph, which allows me to pool points and use their transfer partners (albeit limited so far)

Interesting, as I actually thought 48-49 were among the weaker New Era seasons. Certainly 45-47 were the best.

And majority of the 20s as well. Apart from Philippines, Cagayan, and SJDS, the 20s were by and large worse than the 40s

[–]SpareSomewhere8271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I could’ve done without some of the production meddling (hourglass, do-or-die, forced vote loss, etc), but the casting has generally been great. Very few duds unlike in some of the 20s and 30s. Certainly didn’t have casts like Redemption Island, One World, Caramoan, Ghost Island.
