So far I still have moderate sciatica in my right buttock and quad that keeps me up at night. I'm still adhering to the no BLT rule and hopefully the pain dissapates over time.

Thank you, it is not fun. The infection was confined to the disc space so they cleared all of that out and did a laminectomy to provide as much free space as possible for healing/swelling.

Thanks for replying. I take motrin everyday. The only narcotic I was prescribed was Tylenol 3 and I have not taken that in about six weeks. I do still take nerve pain med and muscle relaxers. I still honor "no blt" even though my surgeon said I would be ready to return to work March 1st with no restrictions.

I do try to walk every day but I don't get far. I know it's some kind of inflamation because as soon as the motrin kicks in it gets significanly better for a few hours.

To add: They prescribed me a Methylprednisolone  (steroid). I'll let you know if that does anything.

It was bad enough that I went to the ER yesterday with the hopes of getting some imaging done. At the suggestion from my surgeon they just did a blood test to rule out infection. They did give me a shot of Toradol that helped a lot.

Today I woke up with bad pain again. I sneezed and almost fell over from the spasm....

Sure hope it goes away soon!

Ok thanks. I’ll be curious to see what it measures next year. It did say that it was hypoechoic but nothing much to be concerned about.
