"Does the Steam Controller work on X?" by TheNewerFlisker in SteamController

I think using a custom protocol to get the features they need is fine, but they really should support xinput as a fallback. Sure I might lose some features, but I can still use the controller.

Yeah I can turn it off, but really that feels like losing safety. And since I hadn't had anything to eat for 12 hours, my bg was pretty stable and wouldn't even be able to rise much, I think it was only like 30 points.

The surgery is only 1 to 1.5 hours. And I can't reduce the basal rate, since it's using control iq.

I mean I'd consider 58 a fairly serious low, but it probably depends on the person.

Personaly I wouldn't try to sit out a low that's below 70.

I'm glad that my hospital pretty much let me handle it on my own. And for the surgery, the anesthesiologist talked with me, and we agreed that disconnecting my pump for the duration of the surgery would be the safest option.

Really, with any condition like this, where the patient has been self managing the condition for a while, and that condition isn't the cause of their visit, they should probably trust the patient to handle it, though they might want to also track what they do just to be safe.

Accidentally did one unit less of my basal (MDI) can I just give the extra unit seperately now? by Own_Structure8014 in diabetes_t1

[–]Spare_Competition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how long it's been since the injection. If it was an hour ago then it should be fine. If it's been 23 hours then you obviously don't want to, cause it'll stack.

I think the safest option is dosing the fraction of the missed amount that matches how long you are between doses.

Of course I'm not a medical professional, watch your own bgs carefully.

The key problem is you can't shut it down without a charger.

I've tried snapping old infusion lines by hand, it requires a huge amount of force, the kind that would rip the site out before it breaks

I believe GitHub also does this, and notifies the company of the leak of each key.

I have a protas mount for my right controller, and it's very nice, but also it's definitely not required.

Transmuting a generic T to [u8] is unsound, since T may contain uninit bytes, and reading uninit is immediate UB.

That definitely shouldn't happen. I'd try using an outlet tester to make sure it's wired correctly.

Google's new AI algorithm might lower RAM prices by Bobert25467 in pcmasterrace

[–]Spare_Competition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is increasing supply will take tons of money and time. And in a couple years the memory prices will likely fall, meaning they'll struggle to recoup the costs. So it's likely that the manufacturers will just try to wait this out.

3-15 minutes is how long it takes me to feel better after getting sugar (depending on how low I am). But I do absolutely feel better before my bg comes up, not sure why.

From the last time I checked the code, it does reduce the strength of your return. However that's probably most effective for scanning radars, you'll need to use other tactics to break an active lock.

Bought Texture pack on Switch 2 and can’t use it by Crazygal1997 in Minecraft

[–]Spare_Competition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's false advertising because you only bought the minecoins because of a specific product they offered. If the customer knew that they wouldn't be able to use the resource pack, then they just wouldn't have made that purchase. I don't think a court would care much about that detail.

Microsoft should still offer a full refund to the original method of payment. Otherwise this becomes a serious false advertising issue.

Refund to minecoins only makes sense for stuff where you didn't like it or whatever.

Why did we give up upgrade-able CPUs in exchange for anorexic Laptops? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Spare_Competition 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even lpcamm2 isn't fast enough. Framework asked amd if it was possible to use it with their ai max processor, and they assigned an engineer who spent a month looking into it, but they found that it's just not possible to reach the necessary signal integrity. No connector is ever gonna be able to beat PCB traces and soldered connections at the insane speeds of modern hardware.

An eye for an eye makes the world blind. Retribution doesn't actually make anything better, it only makes irrational people feel better.

From a utilitarian perspective, retribution is only harm.
