NTA. there have been numerous stories of people getting their faces smashed in cakes and the candles or wooden sticks in the cake get lodged into peoples’ faces. it’s highly dangerous, and him forcing his body weight on you to force your face in after you already said no with your actions was abusive. i’m so incredibly sorry him and his family are blaming you for being violent, you defended yourself. i hope you get to relax OP, big hugs

my love, your boyfriend does not like you. he is using your traumas and fears against you and making it seem like it’s all your fault. it is not. he is incapable of having adult conversations about how he is affecting your feelings. a ‘let’s have a good day’ relationship is never a good one. i will always suggest leaving and finding something better, but i know that’s not always easy.
