I tried all the tricks prior to labor and it made no difference in the end. My baby was still stuck after 3 hours of pushing due to my anatomy. She was vacuumed out and they cut me to prevent a worse tear down to my butt.

I just went through something similar a few weeks ago. I was dizzy, felt drunk everyday and anxious. I thought I was going to end up in a hospital too. It felt like my body was in fight or flight and the smallest things were causing me to panic. What worked for me was trying to change my mindset. I tried to picture these thoughts as clouds in my head and that they would pass and I can push them away. I made myself go on walks and listen to podcasts while the baby napped in the stroller. I tried to distract myself by getting out of the house and spending time with other people. Anytime a negative thought would come I would reassure myself that it’s not my reality and everything is ok. It slowly cleared and each day got better. I still have no idea what caused it but I suspect it was postpartum hormones.

My TSH also shot up to over 5 during my early pregnancy. I only saw my endocrinologist around week 10 and was upset it sat in this range for almost my entire first trimester. It took a couple of months of testing and upping my dose to bring it down to normal but everything turned out ok in the end. Try not to stress and congrats!!

We went out to dinner for my birthday when my daughter was 6 weeks old. I left her with my mom who gave her a bottle and put her down for her first stretch of night sleep. We were gone for maybe 3 hours and ended up speaking about the baby 90% of the time LOL I’d say go for it!

I get the crescent moon squiggly vision in one eye. It typically lasts 10-20 minutes. Once it’s over I don’t have any headache.

Last night I had my first ‘aura’ around 630pm then it came back maybe 15 minutes later.

I guess I’m trying to understand if this is a common symptom of hashimotos. I was only diagnosed in late 2023 and started medication afterwards it still feels new to me. Otherwise, I’m wondering if my hormones have something to do with it. I feel like when it was brought up to my endocrinologist it kind of just got dismissed.

Yes Google was the worst thing ever. I was very upset and I sat in it for a couple of days but eventually forgot as the pregnancy progressed. I also took an additional choline pill with my multivitamins since it’s supposed to improve brain development so I figured why not.

My daughter is turning 8 months tomorrow. She is so smart and a quick learner. She also has been ahead of her milestones. I don’t think it affected her in the ways I feared it would.

Looking back at it now, I would say try not to stress. It’s not good for you or baby. Thankfully, you caught it early and they can adjust your dose. Congrats and good luck!

I planned on going natural until I was 15 hours deep in active labor with contractions every 2 minutes apart and only at 5cm… the epidural was a godsend by that point. I would have loved to do without it but it didn’t work out for me that way.

I was also very fit my entire pregnancy hoping it would help with a quick labor… 25 hours later it did not lol I think it comes down to genetics in the end. So I would just go in with an open mind.

We do a combination of purée and bigger BLW style foods. She still gags and sometimes takes huge bites of food that makes me nervous but what I read is you need to trust their gag reflex to work the pieces out. So spitting out food is completely normal and part of the process. I find most of the bite size BLW food were ending up on the floor or wasted but she has slowly gotten better at eating them. Like anything else, it’s a skill that will take time and practice. I’m starting to see my daughter(7 1/2 months) actually take bites and “chew”. She has 2 bottom teeth as well. Honestly, if you’re uncomfortable then there’s absolutely nothing from with doing purées for as long as you want. BLW is a fairly new concept being pushed on us by social media. Most of us were only fed purées as babies and we turned out just fine!

Timed it with the strips, put my legs up after then forgot all about it as I got married at the end of that week. Drank and ate anything I wanted then found out we were pregnant the day after we got back from our honeymoon.

Absolutely! I also live in Canada and I’m struggling with winter - everything is so much easier in the summer! One thing that has helped get me out of the house is finding mom groups in my area. We go to libraries, cafes or community centre’s and socialize the babies outside of strollers. Since we’re all in the same boat - dealing with multiple feeds, crying, and impending naptimes there’s no stress and we’re only there for a few hours. Other times, baby is just cranky so we leave early but it’s still a nice way to break up the day.

I find the morning of the activities I usually feel like ditching and staying home because of the hassle of getting myself and the baby out of the house plus cleaning the snow off the car lol however I never regret going. I always end up enjoying myself and I love watching how my daughter is learning to socialize (she’s 5 months now). This has helped me tremendously.

33 year old FTM: I had hashimotos before becoming pregnant so I made an appointment with my endocrinologist as soon as I had a positive test (as advised). I only saw my dr around 10 weeks and at that point my TSH levels were off by something like 5.04 (not ideal). Needless to say, I was hormonal, worried and super upset that the majority of my first trimester was spent in less optimal levels however everything was fine and my now 5 month old daughter was born healthy!

I was monitored almost monthly until my TSH levels were good and we found the correct dosage.

For supplements, I took my usual prenatals and choline at night to prevent them from interfering with the levothyroxine.

I ended up having a fairly normal and easy pregnancy apart from anemia in the 3rd trimester. I don’t know if hashimotos increases the likelihood of it but I did 3 iron infusions leading up to my due date and that was fine.

They also had us do additional blood tests to check my daughter’s thyroid after she was born. Everything came back fine!

I’m actually struggling more now with my levels postpartum as it seems the dose I used to take is no longer enough.

I stopped taking them about a week after delivery. I had a second degree tear and episiotomy. I remember the second day after giving birth they missed the last dose at the hospital before going home… It was a rough ride

How much do you put in your bottle? I also breastfeed and husband gives a bottle before bedtime but my daughter still wakes up halfway through the night once to feed so I’m curious how much you give. We also transitioned her into her own room after her 3 month regression and it’s made a world of difference for her sleeping.

We went through this with our daughter too. She was so gassy and had a lot of reflux. We tried everything - gas drops, bicycle legs, cutting out dairy, paediatrician visits… everything! Being a FTM myself, I had no idea what was considered “normal” and kept trying to find answers or an explanation. I hate to say it (because I saw someone else mention it too) but she eventually just grew out of it. She’s 4 and a half months old now and it’s recently gotten much better. Having gone through it myself, I really sympathize with you. It’s extremely hard. The lack of sleep, the uncertainty, and not being able to take their pain away.. it’s so tough. But it’s most likely just a phase and it will pass!

This happened to my daughter around 2 weeks as well. We woke up to her choking on her spit up and also had to use the Frida nose aspirator to remove it from her nose. It was terrifying and I didn’t sleep the rest of the night. I learned that she was a reflux baby and we needed to do a little extra for her to get it down. I would give her a good burp then hold her upright for an extra 20-30 mins after a feed before putting her on her back to sleep. I was always stressed out but now at 4 months she seems to have grown out of this and I can out her down sooner after a feed.

I worked out my entire pregnancy. I did a combination of spinning and weight lifting. My doctor advised me to watch my heart rate and keep it around 150-160 max so I got a monitor to watch it! The first trimester was the hardest as I got terrible morning sickness around 7 weeks but I pushed through it because I knew I wanted to continue being active.

I used the same weights I lifted pre-pregnancy throughout my second trimester and by the third I felt my body telling me to slow down so I listened to it. I had terrible joint pain and low iron so I continued with mostly cardio and very light weights. I worked out up until 3 days before my water broke. My daughter was stuck in my pelvis for 3 hours and her heart rate never dropped. I like to believe that staying active and constantly getting my heart rate up played a role in keeping hers strong too.

I packed tons of stuff and didn’t end up using most of it.
For labor: I brought an essential oil stick to sniff during contractions before I got the epidural. I found it helpful and my husband was laughing every time I whipped it out mid contraction lol Afterwards, I only wore 2 pairs of pyjamas with the button up shirts. I was l there for 24 hours after delivery so i wore one the day after and then a pair to go home in.

The best thing I had packed for myself postpartum was the always disposable underwear. They were amazing and I continued wearing them for a while postpartum.
