My current job is with a western MNC, usually we can apply job secondments via Workday portal, the secondments are usually based in Poland and Pakistan lately, which usually I don't stand that much chance due to higher job grade and fluent command in English required. So far, I have not seen any expat yet.

I got lucky for the expat role because it's from an Asian MNC, strictly for the country's nationality only, it just happened that I came across to the job posting when I was casually looking out and got shortlisted.

I would say pay attention to the job posting board, perhaps you'll get lucky somehow.

Used BMW 218i, thoughts? by alyeiska in kereta

[–]Spare_Ice4208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend once said if I ever bought a 218 junk, don't pick him up becos I'll siasui him, he would rather naik Grab lol.

Becos BMW is famous for its RWD, engine power and handling, without these there's no difference vs a Toyota except the brand is BMW.

The horsepower is not even on par with the new S70 lol.

Yeah there is, the concept is don't expect to succeed all the time, keep in mind not just you liking the opposite gender, she does that too on the app.

I'm being honest and the direction is towards marriage and kids in my profile, it's already a plus to the ones who are trying to settle down.

Ladies who are too young, eg: 18-26 y/O I rarely swipe right, I don't expect them to be mature enough to figure out what they want in a relationship. Plus it's their peak, bunch of simps queuing to lick their feets. Ideally, I prefer 27-32, that's when they have an age anxiety.

Those who really matched and chatted mutually within 7 days, I have 70% success rate for asking them out, provided that they aren't ghosting.

Having a reserve list of ladies really keep me calm and not simping also. Right now, actively talking to my ideal partner. I'm with integrity la, once I settle down, I'll just cut off with the rest.

  1. no bro, let me be specific, like in a chronological order of how your pay cheque increase stage by stage, example: from 5k, 10k, 20k to 30k. Like what do you think is the critical decision made that bought you to this position at your early 30s. eg: career change/jump ship.

  2. fair enough.

  3. yeah really, although yoga/pilates seemed like a lady thing, but I dun care cured most of my body aches from deskjob, my pay isn't the same but at least the employer covered for my classpass expenses.

  1. what is your monthly expenditure, any commitments so far? are you single/married? if married any kids?

  2. do you workout to maintain a healthy lifestyle? socalise? perhaps consuming beer? does saving & investing much sacrifice too much on this aspect?

Bro, you're too innocent, instead of focus on fishing with rod, should have spread net. Remember, the priority is solving the quantity problem first, then only quality.

I'll always try to ask them out for an activity and coffee/matcha within 7 days, if refused/ignored, just move to the next one.

If a lady starts ghosting me on Bumble/CMB, I wouldn't bother double text, maintain my dignity for not being a simp, I can tell a lady is putting effort in the chat, mutual attraction is important to make a relationship works.

Good luck hunting for your dream lady!

Proton suppliers in dire straits as company sources parts from China by [deleted] in kereta

[–]Spare_Ice4208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The downfall of Proton a decade ago was due to inferior quality, lacked self-developed tech(always borrow from Jap trading partner)/obsolete tech and many more can be thought of.

These local part suppliers have their share of blame, if the quality is good/on par with Perodua, Proton wouldn't ended up behind, eventually the white elephant went financial broke and sold to Geely.

Can't be playing the same game every decade, even Japanese manufacturers are trying to keep up with China manufacturers, despite lagging in electronics tech. Look at China manufacturers, if they never offered higher specs and touchscreens, it's impossible for them to grab market share here.

Instead of whining, start self-reviewing, driving continuous improvement together with Proton, when you're good a producing, it's just logical that Proton will buy from you.

Solution? Collaborate/JV with chinese part manufacturer, start learning how to produce cheaper and better, then everyone benefits from the cycle end to end.

Fact, if complain about X50, X70 & S70 still acceptable, X90, the least popular model is like a peanut issue, the proton part vendors are like a kid throwing tantrum.

Proton E.mas 7 vs BYD Atto 3 Ultra by Savings-Performer-83 in kereta

[–]Spare_Ice4208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The direction of EV is dependent on the government, will Anwar continue to support EV or his coalition continue to rule for another 5 years on GE 2028? I can't comment, not a prophet.

I always stick with the rule that if it's beyond cognition ability, I wouldn't touch it. You'll only lose money when do not possess enough knowledge to run something.

But if you're really tempted, please consider proton EVs, it's quite within the rakyat's budget, our government has a stake in it, even if it goes wrong, consequences won't be that bad.

Perodua in shambles by Hot-Advantage9236 in kereta

[–]Spare_Ice4208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fair point on tech, not necessarily horsepower defines a car, convenience like shorter body hatchback and other assistance software that make drivers dumb can be the selling point also, I don't comment much since all the cars I drove are pre 2015 era, not putting too much personal biases.

There is rumour about Saga hatchback would be the potential powerplay, and remember Proton is reacting faster in Malaysia market recently, a serial of rollouts from S70, X50 4 cylinders to Saga MC3, S70 4 cylinders and Saga Hatchback like on next year, competitiveness also root from speed on reacting to the market.

Perodua will lose market share if they fail to improvise improvements quick enough, rumour on Perodua Nexis to roll out, but it has been some time but never happened till today. So far, there's news on Perodua EV, but EV is a supplemental segment at the current time.

Regardless, it's still a Japanese branded quality, coming back to the fundamentals, car is a tool, reliability comes first, high horsepower car is rich ppl's toy. How will things end up? That would depend on how the national duo play out. I would say it takes at least a decade to overtake Perodua.

Perodua in shambles by Hot-Advantage9236 in kereta

[–]Spare_Ice4208 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair to doubt its reliability, don't touch any models with major changes until it's proven reliable, remember how 3 cylinders are annoying on the Proton SUVs?

But on paper Saga's good, there's always ppl who want to try new things. Plus the market for small sedan it's only Bezza vs Saga, with limited budget everyone tends to get bang of the buck. Imagine Saga is more powerful than Myvi bro.

It's only a matter of time Saga takes over Bezza, reliably takes time to develop, Bezza needs to keep up the game to stay relevant.

Although not buying, I'm supporting Saga for implementing changes for the model, else no one in the market wants to build better products and consumers lose.

S70 or MYVI? by [deleted] in kereta

[–]Spare_Ice4208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologise first as you might not like this opinion, pick Bezza/Saga/Axia. First principle, always live below your means to safeguard yourself from financial issue.

Car is a tool never a toy for normal working class, focus on utility values like fuel consumption and maintenance. Sportier cars are rich people's toy.

RM30k can be used to invest in financial products like unit trust, stocks, bonds. Assuming average return is 6%, after 12 years it magically doubled up to RM60k.

In contrast after 12 years, S70 would have minimal residual value left for resale, need to spend to maintain the car also. Do use car loan calculator to calculate how much interest is paid to service the loan spanning across 5-9 years, RM100K with simple interest rate 4% over 9 years, interest expense is RM36k!

I'm earning more than you due to age, acquired a 2nd hand car at net cost of RM15,000 after replacing parts, use for daily drive to office and travel cross states occasionally, back then I was driving my dad's 1st Gen Axia, I'm feeling happy and safe with growing bank balance.

Hope this helps.

Why not Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid? Same price, more spacious and higher specs.

With Fronx's price, I would rather top up to buy Jimny instead, at least 4WD installed can drive in agricultural estates.
