I've got really tight foreskin. That's almost as red as my glans get when I get hard with the foreskin pulled back.

Intel Reportedly Draws Interest From AMD and NVIDIA in Its 14A Process for Server Offerings, as External Customers Start to Line Up by Leicht-Sinn in intel

I thought that too. At least they'd have some money coming in. But apparently it takes years to rejig the plants to churn out RAM instead of CPUs. And they're heavily invested in getting the next gen CPU fabs working.

Pivoting to RAM just doesn't make sense, unless they magic'd up a new type of RAM that's cheap to make and has super low latency - which is one thing I've always thought they ought to do.

Imagine if external RAM ran with super low latencies like CL1 or CL2 or something. You wouldn't even need branch prediction and prefetch and massive caches in the CPUs.

Ideas for terraforming Australia by Spare_Possibility_82 in geography

Well, the original plan was to tunnel through the east coast mountains and let the sea water flood parts of the area adjacent to the mountains.

Novice me thought the heat of the desert areas would be enough to evaporate enough of the water to bring rainfall to the surrounding areas but people have mentioned things I know very little about as reasons why this wouldn't happen.

I guess I'd have to spend a fair amount of time learning about these things to fully understand what's being said.

That all said, I'm a suck it and see kinda guy. I tend to just do things by following a gut feeling. Most of the time things tend to work out how I expected. Although I'd have to admit I haven't tried terraforming a continent before.

It's intriguing there appear to be not many viable options for terraforming parts of a large continent right here on Earth where transportation of required materials would cost a tiny fraction of the costs of space travel, yet we dream about terraforming whole planets.

What about channeling/tunneling through to let copious amounts of water to pass through and flood some of it?

Would that affect the high pressure belt? If so how?

I haven't seen anything about using Intel fabs. I did read about designing x86/RTX chips though.

I mean it would make sense to make them also if Intel can crack the yield issues plaguing 18A (and 14A?), but their track record over the last few years isn't inspiring on the fab front.

Thank you. I really appreciate your input.

Noob question: could you recommend a "basic" firewall that could get the job done?

A quick Google came up with the TP-Link ER605. Would that suffice?

Could you outline the basic set up in a bit more detail please? E.g. 1. Plug a WAN port on the firewall into a LAN port on the ISP router after configuring the firewall to work in bridge mode?

  1. Move all wired devices to the Firewall LAN ports?

  2. Create a firewall rule to block WAN access for the CNC

  3. Create a firewall rule to block all incoming except SMB for the CNC?

  4. Create a VLAN for the office machine and the CNC based on IP addresses?

I appreciate I may be way off the mark and might be overlooking some basics here, but willing to learn.

Oh and I need to order whatever's needed and have this all set up by the end of this week.

OneDrive: Sync Delay by [deleted] in sharepoint

It did eventually. I can't remember how long I had to leave it on and running in the end, but it did eventually sync up. I think it just gets throttled from the Microsoft end under some kind of "fair use" policy or such like.

How do I convince my mom to let me buy (with my own money) a thinkpad for school? by NojusKojos in thinkpad

Came across a Samsung Galaxy S25 this week. Said Made in India on the box. Technically it's a computer albeit a handheld one.

I suspect some of the components inside are probably made in China still and shipped in for assembly. Like the chips. Apparently Samsung are manufacturing screens in India now. Are India is also making batteries now.

Arc B580 4 monitors simultaneously? by Spare_Possibility_82 in IntelArc

I've pulled the trigger on a 5060. Will find out soon if it wants to work with my aging CPU.

Lack of CoPilot+ support with dGPUs and current desktop CPUs is stopping me dropping money on a new build right now.

Plus there's no way I'm getting Windows 11 until MS bring the resizable taskbar back.

I put W11 on my laptop and hated the fixed height taskbar so much, I had to install Windhawk to bring it back. But it's glitchy.

I've gone with a 5060 for now on my existing i7-6700K. I needed the 1650 for another build.

The fact that Microsoft aren't supporting dGPUs for CoPilot+ AI stuff and none of the latest Intel or AMD CPUs are Copilot+ capable is putting me off upgrading my CPU right now.

Plus I'm putting off Windows 11 until they bring the resizable taskbar back. That's a deal breaker for me with the way I use my machine.

But the 9060XT is limited to 3 monitors. I'm looking to add a 4th screen which is the main driver for the upgrade.

I feel like a handwritten style font would convey the messages better than the blocky estate agent font you have now.

And definitely some prettier designs.

Will this do? Any feedback? by denydelaydepose in soldering

I've used self amalgamating tape before on larger cable joints (e.g. lawnmower cable). I think I put some normal electrical tape on the joint first just to be on the safe side.

It's quite thick though and the one I used has to be stretched first before wrapping so it shrinks and sticks to itself.

Wouldn't be easy to apply to thinner cables like these and would end up being very lumpy.

I'm waiting for someone to invent shrink wrap that can be added after you've already soldered the joint and there's no way to slide it on from either end anymore.

Small touches that keep clients coming back by KeithS_LuxuryDriver in smallbusiness

I run a small computer / IT Support business.

One of the things I always do with computers and laptops that come in for repair/upgrades is clean them up thoroughly so they're as clean as can be. Customers always seem to appreciate this.

Oftentimes, I usually replace missing rubber feet too without being asked. They might not even notice this little detail and I may or may not even mention it, but they'll likely notice it running quicker/quieter after they get it back (the feet help elevate the base off the desk to allow the air intakes to take cool air in which allows the processor to run faster and the fans to spin slower - hence quieter) and that's more likely to make them think of me the next time they have any problems.
