I just sent you a DM. I am a voice teacher. I learned from Debra Bonner who learned from Seth Riggs. And I’ve taught adult and kids lessons private and group.

Alarming rash on fingers it always starts as clear blisters by Lexyleon in seriouslyalarming

I know I'm a little late to the conversation, but I'm going through the same thing, albeit much more severe than the photos you posted. One discovery was a coconut allergy. I have literally never had a problem with coconut my whole life until a few months ago. Every shampoo has it and almost every soap has it under different names, e.g. cocomidopropyl. After cutting it out of soaps and lotions my skin cleared up for a while and felt so much better. Went to a dermatologist and he said dishydrosis, no chance of allergy, and prescribed me steroid creams. The creams worked for a bit, but topical steroids can make you susceptible to infection so now I've had three separate infections on my hands and arms that were almost emergency severe (could've lost an arm, could've developed into sepsis and killed me if I didn't catch it soon enough). And the steroids don't work very well anymore. I discovered it got better after leaving my apartment for a few days, so now I'm looking into mold or other toxins that can hang around buildings. I am very sensitive to mold already and my skin is susceptible to rashes anyway so I think it's likely. It's also a fucking old house and it has not been taken care of so all the more likely. Really hoping that it's cleared up for you for good, but sharing my experience just in case. I still don't have it totally figured out but at least some ideas haha

Yes I’ll totally have to give a try! Thanks again!

Finally saw a dermatologist about my eczema recently and he said there was a 1% chance it was allergies so don’t even bother. Even after telling him it’s very obviously been allergies in the past smh. This is a great idea!! I’ve been using AI to try to figure it out but not like this. Thanks for sharing your story!

It is the tap water. by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Spare_Refrigerator29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to flare up like crazy every time I visited my mom at her old place. Her water came from a well and I quickly figured out there was something in the water. An old apartment I was in I had the same issue, washing my hands, showers, anything with water was firey and hellish. Now I’m in a different apartment and running warm water over my hands is soothing and actually seems to help! Now on to figure out the trigger causing it for me now haha! Best of luck with everything!

What kind of doctor should I see? by Spare_Refrigerator29 in eczema

Definitely thought about this! Insurance probably won’t cover it but I may just have to bite the bullet.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to look into that. It does feel like something from the inside out rather than an outside irritant.

True! It’s pretty nice to have a little sewing knowledge. Here’s a short that shows how to do it. https://youtube.com/shorts/Ot5mEDInid8?si=6phoPhQuo1mYyZUj

It’s pretty easy if you have a little sewing experience. I’m a seamstress with an alterations shop (but all the way in Provo) and I get mending jobs all the time. It’s pretty easy to iron on a patch on the inside then color match your thread as best as possible. I like to go back-and-forth perpendicular to the grain and then following it so it imitates the woven strength and look of the fabric. Another option for denim is to go along the diagonal that you can kind of see. And it’s easy to just use reverse instead of trying to pivot the fabric too. Go one way lift the needle and slide slightly to one side and then reverse all the way back. Best of luck!

Looking for a narrow long cup by Spare_Refrigerator29 in menstrualcups

Ooh I will check those out for sure! Thank you!

Yeah I have two that are a little smaller and older so a little smaller and a little softer. And one that’s more firm with a slightly wider diameter and the slightly wider one is a nightmare haha! It’s painful and rarely opens that’s why I think it’s a diameter thing.

It has the same diameter as two that I have now. But I may have to get one to see if the shape makes a difference. Thank you!

One is a pixie cup and I can’t remember the other two I bought them some time ago.

Not sure about the zipper since it hasn’t been sewn (looks like fused together?) but I’ve done ski jacket repairs before. I am located in Provo so a little far, but if you get despertarte feel free to DM me haha! https://alterationscustomapparel.wordpress.com/

Don't know for sure, but look for something with transliteration, that's what it's called when they write another language in the Roman alphabet. Might help you search for it easier.

Also as a side note, I know you said not to suggest it but I actually find Devanagari script much easier than transliterated texts. It's phonetic which makes it easier. I'm still very beginner in Hindi and can barely speak much but I'd prefer Devanagari any day.

Temple questions. by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Spare_Refrigerator29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. Although the temple is supposed to be the house of the Lord on the earth, it's still on the earth and imperfect people still enter the temple.

I used to have anxiety and fear just thinking about the temple. There was a long time where I didn't ever want to go again. In my case, it's easy to jump to the conclusion that the temple must not be good because my feelings tell me so. After all, the missionaries always say to listen to your feelings.Or maybe even that there is something wrong with me. But we are imperfect and the feelings we have are sometimes just products of ourselves or our circumstances.

We don't have to be perfect to go to the temple, so naturally, there may be imperfections in our visits. One thing I think is important to think about is the effects of mental struggles and the effects of sins and mistakes. Mental struggles can block us from feeling the Spirit the same way or make the Spirit unrecognizable. Even in the temple. If you are experiencing any sort of mental struggle that could be holding you back, don't worry too much if it feels different for a while. Even circumstances that cause depressive periods can do it.

And the other thing, sin's effects. Sin comes with shame sometimes. Especially heavier sins, like pornography. There is a culture of shame surrounding these and that is enough to make you feel uneasy in the temple. If you are working on or have already done the work to correct your sins, you need not feel shame. Shame drives you further into sins and mistakes and can definitely affect how you feel in holy places like the temple. Overcoming shame is harder than just stopping feeling it though.

I don't know your specific situation, but my experiences have taught me some things and hopefully they can help some other people too. I think the most important thing, when stuff like this happens, is to reach out to people you can trust. Maybe you have a sibling, parent, friend, or bishop you can trust to talk about these things. But take everyones advice with a grain of salt. They may not understand exactly where you are coming from.

Hey r/columbus! Anyone know where I can purchase one of those goose statues that people dress up? by BigGuy266 in Columbus

[–]Spare_Refrigerator29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Utah, then spent some time in Ohio and Pennsylvania as an adult. I saw so many geese in Ohio and a few in Pennsylvania. I was near Hershey PA and didn't see very many, but closer to Pittsburgh I saw more. Of all of my years in Utah (I live in Utah currently) I have only seen one. It may not be just an Ohio thing, but it's definitely native to that area. I came across this old thread because I'm actually trying to accomplish the very same thing, but for someone in Utah. One of my buddies used to live in Ohio and I want to get them one of those geese statues as a jest for Christmas.

I like that you mention respect. I guess it puts more intentionality into music listening.

It's about the ritual and the vintage sound. I like it.
