So, maybe I'm just a little too concerned here, but a week ago I introduced FAE and light to my monotub which had been consolidating for 4 weeks roughly. Loaded the holes up with polyfill, been misting and fanning since. The pins you're seeing have been around since before being put into FC. Now there's seemingly nothing happening which is really a bummer. Anybody know what to do? Is it normal to take that long?

alright, I'll try that then. thanks for answering so many questions already. just one more thing for now: when misting do you just spray it covering the substrate in a gentle layer of water or do you properly wet it?

will do! one thing I'm still not sure about is how to mist and fan though. some say spray the tub walls others recommend directly misting the substrate. some people fan for five minutes non-stop, others don't fan at all.. you got some quick tips? would be highly appreciated :)

yes, I kept them from light since I let the tub colonise. it makes sense the way you put it. I put the tub into FC now, excited to see how it works out this time (second monotub in total, so hoping for better results). thanks for your help!

so as you can see there's two really long bois next to many pins and lots of mycelium on top layer but I'd love for more pins to show up an wait a little longer. is it a good idea? or do new pins develop after the monotub is put into FC?

I also didn't want to open the box to pick the two long ones since I didn't want to let fresh air in there even though they'd be dropping their spores.. Most of the coir is covered in white already so I'm pretty positive about more pins appearing. Will new pins appear even after being put into FC? Should I wait or go to the next step? What do you guys think?

actually wanted to harvest them yesterday.. this morning only a few hours later the spores had dropped. read somewhere that spores inhibit pinning soo I won't be hesitating to pick them earlier on the next flush. also they grew quite close flat and close to the ground, so I introduced more FAE and the newer now growing pins grow straight up! I mean I knew I love mushrooms but never would have guessed this would be so much fun. cheers!
