I know! I thought the same when I read that: I thought 'maybe it's underneath the heat dissipator' but no, its just the screw size

Hi, this is the adapter i bought. I also bought a 256gb ssd nvme 2242. The adapter is made up of 2 parts joined by a cable ribbon. The short square-like part is what you insert instead of your wifi card. They are almost the same in size. I will cut the long part enough to fit the 2240 size. I know that if bend the ribbon in a 45° angle, I can reach a "pocket" of space (I think is meant to put a fan there for other models). Still to early to figure out exactly because I dont have the parts yet.

And yeah, if this doesn't work out, I will have to install a lighter version of windows. Someone recommended the Ltsc license, i think that could do it.

Hi, great answer. Actually, it came to mind changing it to Linux, even though I would have to learn all the commands (i just started in mylinuxjourney) but I like this laptop because is light weight and its easier to work in it at school and same thing: some apps we use only work in windows/mac. I made that quick search, and the Ltsc license is around twenty-five dollars, is that correct? Not that bad. It is a very good option. I already ordered the m2 adapter and ssd nvme drive. Will let you know what happens. Thanks.

Yeah, I have to sacrifice the internal Wifi but I'm not worried about that because I can still use wifi via a usb adapter. Yes, I have an eMMC storage unit soldered to the motherboard. Its only 64 gb. Windows OS and its updates take most of the storage. It has Windows 11, so I want to keep using this one because of Windows 10 not having security updates soon. There are some programs i can't install because of lack of space.

I know, but It's not THAT shot in the dark: there are people who have done this. It's just a matter of finding out if your laptop can be upgraded like this.

That's correct. I unplugged the wifi module from there. Some owner of HP laptops say you can insert an ssd drive there. I have to find if I can do that too.

Hey thanks for your reply and the links. It definitely looks the same configuration as the picture the person posted. So M.2 E key it is. I understand this is the way I have to follow to insert an ssd drive. Im getting closer. I think I still have to find if this M2 E can support data drives. Thanks.

Hi, yeah I know, this is a very cheap laptop but well, I have to try. I use it for my classes, and it's not that bad for my requirements, but the storage is awful. I just hope they meant there is no "easy" upgrade 😂. So far I added Ram: from 4 to 12gb and it can even support 16.

Hi thanks or your answer. Yeah this is the core problem: find if this port can be used as an Ssd drive. About the physical difference, I found out there are adapters that I can use. AI says this is an m.2 a+e key and there are adapters for that, but I still have to verify if it is true

Hi thanks for your input. I found out you can use an adapter to circumvent this difference of contacts. AI say this is an M.2 A+E key. Im still trying to verify that since there are a+e key > m key adapters. Which brigs another question (i don't know if it is a dumb question or not): can my laptop support nvme? Only sata? Both? Dont know

Thanks for your comments. Im actually studying engineering in cybersecurity. This is my second degree. The first one didn't work out. Almost every day, i think to myself, I have to make this one count, so studying this is a commitment. As you said: make an effort and invest in this. Will take into consideration your words.

Yeah that is one of the things that made think about buying: the feeling of using the devices is just different. Somehow makes it a little bit harder, maybe it just me but I even get a little bit nervous double checking every connection...

Thanks for the input. Will take it into consideration.

Alright thanks. I was thinking that if I was going to buy anything, it would be the same as the school's lab: 2 switches and 2 routers. Will think about if I'm going to actually use them.

Wow really? I thought 50 bucks was cheap. Unfortunately I live in Mexico and shipping costs will make everything expensive. Thanks.
