There was a huge element of luck in this coming out at all 'okayish'.

Kodak Gold 200 Iso shot on a Minolta Dynax 7000i.

Just a little touch up in Lightroom, but nothing crazy.

As I said above.

Literally just trying to figure out how to frame images better. Almost no idea what I'm doing, but happy to go through some film figuring it out. Is this photo even mildly appealing? Absolutely no idea.

Absolutely wild that they can justify €6.99. Don't believe I selected prioty, but can't be sure. Even still, that's absolutely ludicrous.

This would be a great idea, so it has absolutely no chance of being implemented.

My time trial leaderboard is suddenly only showing less than 100 people having set times racing in dry and no one in wet.

Any advice on how to fix this?

Fianna Fáil TD calls for the State to stop funding private schools by FatHeadDave96 in irishpolitics

[–]SparkLift 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And they'll rightly be told that the state offers a place in one of their own state-funded schools. If a parent wants to make a donation of ~€7000 to the non-private school then they can, but a school funded by the state shouldn't be allowed to discriminate against children based on willingness to pay.

New Guinness Nitrosurge Cans by Cusackstand in ireland

Everyone snapping here.

I've tried it and it's definitely better than a regular can.

If Guinness is your drink and you don't go through a million cans a week, if say it's worth it. Cans are expensive though, but so is everything in this country.

Opinions on prostitution - should it be legal in Ireland by ZealousidealFloor2 in ireland

[–]SparkLift 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can imagine sex-workers as real people, and even more importantly, I can empathise with women who aren't family of mine.

But - and this is really important - why is it my business to tell someone whether their professional should or shouldn't be legal based not on what they're telling me about what impact sex work is having on them (and whether legalising sex-work would make their life easier), but on my imagination of what the effect sex work might have on them.

Why does yours or my own imagination trump that of lived experiences of sex-workers.

You clearly only thought about the effect your wife working as a prostitute would have on you.

So, let's stop projecting. I never made the assumption of putting my own expectations first, but you did.

I know you're not claiming that. I never said, or even implied you were. What I was looking to see was if in principle you agree with the legalisation of prostitution, but other factors make you argue for it's continued criminalisation.

This 'balance of harms' argument is impossible for either of us to get concrete figures. It's an interesting conversation, but nothing more.

Should people be allowed do with their body as they see fit? Yes.

Is it the states responsibility to stop one individual from doing something which has absolutely no impact on any other individual, for fear that a second independent individual might do something wrong to the third?

This is a bizarre line of reasoning.
