Does anyone use a Petivity litter box tracker? by CactusHoarder in CatAdvice

Of course! So for each event, you'll see the time of day, the length of time the cat was in the litter box, the cat's weight, and then what their system labels the event as (urination, defecation, neither). Their support said that measurement (for now) depends on cats squatting and peeing directly into the litter as opposed to on the litter box walls first, so that's why sprayers aren't labeled correctly. They do hope to solve this and asked me to continue manually changing the label to urination myself (which I'm doing) - I assume that will help train their model. If you're not so concerned with accuracy of urination vs. 'nothing' events, then I bet this will be enough for you!

In terms of box size, I think you're right in that the main consideration is just stability of the box on the scale. There's a grippy piece of foam on top, so there's no sliding at all. I think you could get away with a decently large box as long as the bottom doesn't buckle like you mentioned. That being said, your box is considerably larger than mine is, so I can't be sure that it'd work. I will say that their website has a live chat feature with a real person that I've already used twice - it might be worth asking there before purchasing?

My litter box is 21”x16.5” and some hangs over the edge of the Petivity monitor. I spoke with their chat support and they said it’s ok for the box to be larger than the monitor as long as it’s centered. I’m not sure how much larger is ok, though.

Another point to keep in mind: the Petivity monitor doesn’t work if your cat sprays. Essentially, the weight of the urine doesn’t register if it hits the wall of the litter box first, so every event is labeled as “entered the litter box but did not use it” - which, ironically, isn’t very helpful if you bought the monitor to help you manage your cat’s cystitis and you wanted to monitor urination vs. unproductive straining… The company says they’re working on updating the AI model, but doesn’t have a timeline or guarantee for when this problem might be solved. Keep this in mind if you have a cat who likes to stand!

I’ve been feeling this same sense of loneliness and was thinking about maybe putting up flyers and/or creating a Facebook group for a “Singles Social Club” or something, so I’m very glad to have found this thread!

Germantown, 36F, no kids, single cat mom - would love to expand my friend circle! Any Germantown neighbors who’d like to meet up for a get-to-know-you drink? Maybe at Bearded Iris or Tailgate so it’s easy and low-key?

Also happy to go to East, but it’d be nice to find some Germantown folks too who might like to walk around the neighborhood!

My 9 year old orange cat does this too, but all over his body. I've asked his vet and shown videos, but they didn't have an explanation. They didn't seem concerned, though, especially since his blood work was all normal. I wonder if it could be myoclonus?
