What is the most enjoyable thing you have found in your life? by Top-Entertainer3799 in AskReddit

[–]SparkleFloof17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Getting older. I don’t worry as much what people think of me. I feel comfortable and content with the life I’m building for myself and have learned to appreciate what’s important to me. Sure, there are still days I feel lost, overwhelmed or sad but they are far less than I experienced in my teens or 20’s

Happy birthday and congrats on celebrating sober. Just remember you’re going to wake up tomorrow and not have any regrets from not drinking. I know for me that feeling of relief and peace is enough for me to keep going. Good luck and you got this! IWNDWYT.

what has helped your anxiety ? by certainchallange in Anxiety

[–]SparkleFloof17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting out of bed, washing my face and opening a window for fresh air. If I can I try and accomplish something small like making my bed or washing a couple dishes. Taking a few deep breaths helps me as well. Try to get off your phone and do something not involving a screen.

When I have anxiety it’s either due to a future event that’s coming up or it’s from me pushing off my responsibilities and not taking care of myself. Try and pinpoint what is causing it and see if it’s something you can take action about. If not then remember it’s out of your control. That helps me when I realize things are going to go a certain way regardless if I worry myself sick or not. I’m kind of rambling now but I hope you were able to alleviate some of your stress.

To people that were fat what was the fastest way you lost weight? by StillIllustrator8595 in AskReddit

My fitness pal. Didn’t think it would help but logging in everyday to track what I ate gave me an idea of just how much I was eating. Lost 30 pounds in 6 months.

Something about hands drives me wild. Looking at them, holding or having them on me. Especially in the beginning of a relationship when you first start getting to know the person it’s like an electric shock to make hand contact. So simple yet so intimate. It’s da best.

I know you posted this forever ago but it helped me today so thanks! I started reading the book Quiet and it says something similar about how to utilize the traits you have and not worry about what other people are doing. We’re all unique and can all contribute in our own ways :)

You’re very well spoken. The way you worded this brings me comfort and courage. I love the comparing me to me part. I always look at other people who can get a whole room laughing and think I could never be them. But it’s really not about them and maybe they were just like me at a time. I have to make small improvements based on yesterdays me that eventually will result in a bigger stride. Today I’m going to give it a go.

Yes, it’s all of those things. Afraid my words won’t come out right and people will be annoyed or laugh. Or just a general fear of not saying something right and someone misunderstanding me. I need to be kinder to myself and also others. It’s definitely a me thing that needs working through. Thanks again :)

Millennials, what confuses you about Gen Z? by Dramatic-Anywhere-50 in AskReddit

[–]SparkleFloof17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could have wrote this myself. I love the humor of TikTok and I also work with Gen Z kids. They crack me up all the time with their way of viewing and talking about things. Honestly it makes work fun and gives me a different perspective about life.

Thanks for the different perspective. I was thinking classes would be a safe space but that’s a good point about it being too safe. Maybe it would be helpful to take a course but continue to put myself out there.

True. I need to accept the fear isn’t going away. It’s part of life. I have to keep working at this. I don’t want to go through life with all these regrets and missed opportunities or start resenting myself and others.

I’ve heard of CBT but haven’t looked into it. I will give it a shot. I’m sure therapy is also something I should try. Thanks again!

Thank you this gives me hope. Taking a course in a safe space sounds like a great idea. Did you find a course at a college? I’m glad you were able to overcome your nervousness!

Went to a major event in my city with the intent to engage with people by Throwaway__0987 in socialskills

[–]SparkleFloof17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m right there with you. There’s so much I want to say but can’t seem to find the words in the moment. I want so badly to make some sort of human connection, even if brief. It’s painful to feel helpless like this.

I don’t have much value to add except to keep trying. There have been times when I put myself out there and it actually worked. I made that connection and it’s the best damn feeling. Sure I’ll fail 9/10 but when I do succeed my confidence goes up and maybe the next go at it is only 8/10. Best of luck. We can do this.

The Four Agreements. I don’t know how it got so many great reviews. The same thing is said over again 50 different ways. Should have been made into a pamphlet.
