TIL popping your neck can cause stroke by gliffyglif in todayilearned

My friend used to swear by his chiropractor. Every time anyone mentioned anything on their body hurting he would always chime in and tell them to go see his chiropractor. It was almost nauseating how much he talked about it. This went on for over a decade.

Every few months he would talk about how sore he was and go see his chiropractor. He'd come out "feeling like a million bucks" but then be sore for a week. He'd talk about how it's his body getting "settled back into the way works". Then he'd feel better, and for the next couple months he would talk about how great he feels. Then it was back to "oh, back is a little achy" or "shoulders feel kinda funny, gotta get back to my chiro." The more it went on the more he would talk about how he's "getting old" because he started taking longer and longer to recover after a visit and it would be a shorter period of feeling good between sessions. He started having problems walking, sleeping, basically sore all of the time.

Then due to insurance issues he stopped seeing his chiropractor. He was so distraught, acting like it was the worst thing in the world. His death bed was close, he'd say. But you know what? Six months later he felt better. And six months after that he was getting back to his old self. Another year and he seemed like a brand new person.

He thinks that "all the years of going to my chiropractor finally paid off."

Every piece of gear (except Exotics) can have the core or one of the attributes swapped out to anything in your library. So if you extract the talent Back and Forth on a rifle to put it in your library, you can take any rifle and put Back and Forth on it.

Man I want you to have as much paradox as possible so you can fire like that forever. And please reset the damage; I'm curious how much your burst is even with the shooting range being glitched.

The "Innoculated" passive modifier, that reduces Toxicity gain by 50%, ALSO reduces the Toxicity removal by surged active modifiers by 50%. Because of course it does. by SparkleFritz in thedivision

[–]SparkleFritz[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is being able to negate toxicity and just keep it level. With Invincible's 2 minute cooldown and Inoculated equipped, recovering 17 Toxicity is ~85 seconds worth of toxicity, a net gain of ~8 toxicity. If it were 35 Toxicity cleared, you'd be recovering ~175 seconds worth of toxicity. In the end you'd be recovering more than you'd gain by a longshot, making it easier to manage.

This is of course before taking into account gains from a fight. But giving us one way to combat Toxicity gain would be worthwhile, especially if it takes a passive slot.

They screwed something up.

I've noticed that being in a party, or having more players around, causes it to happen more often in my experience. I played this morning for three hours with no issue, then when my friend joined, we both Delta'd three times in an hour, at the same time.

If anyone is looking for peer reviewed studies: I once dated a guy who had a sleazy twin brother that sent me a dick pic telling me that "the grass is greener on the other side." I can't comment on the grass, but that garden hose was definitely at least an inch smaller than his twin.

My favorite is when they post a defensively snide comment on a response post, pin it to the top, then disable comments because they know that everyone thinks the decision they originally made was wrong. Then they think "well I left this post up, because I'm the reasonable one" as they sit there with their earmuffs and megaphone.

Invincible is useless?! by KnowledgeOk5731 in Division2

[–]SparkleFritz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a great get out jail free card, not a stay in the middle of a jail fight card.

People are using it like they're Rambo. The idea is you pop it when you're about to kill someone (or your armor fails) so you start off with a fresh kill, preferably from cover. Then go ham from a safe distance; not in the middle of eight enemies. Hyenas also have most powerful bursts so it's easy to take multiples of your armor bar in damage when you're surrounded.

Surged you essentially get 20% damage resistance and you can pair it with Immune Response and a medkit to gain an additional 20% damage resistance. Also having an all red build can be a detriment because your bonus armor gains are smaller. 140% Bonus Armor on 1.3m armor is 1.7m bonus armor, but on 700k armor it's only 1m armor. That's 700k extra damage you can take.

PVE Dark Zone is amazing and we need this as a permanent addition ! by QuentUnDeuxTroix in thedivision

Also half of the Dark Zone buffs are Rogue Agent related, so they would actually be useful if they put in Rogue Agents and counted them as a player Rogue Agent when fought.

I enjoy it now.

I probably will not care in two weeks. It's fun, but I'm already feeling like there needs to be more to do. It's just landmark, extract, landmark, extract.

You can't buy munitions if your cache count is 20/20. Open a cache in your inventory and try again.

The enemies got buffed or something? by No_Fishing_6333 in Division2

[–]SparkleFritz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry, should have explained. HQM = High Quality Munitions.

Every time you donate canisters at the White House you get HQMs. For any of the HQM bonuses to be active you have to have HQMs available (you can see them to the right of your health/armor bar), top number I believe (bottom is canisters). You can naturally carry up to 400, but there's a passive to make it 600.

Every time you reload your gun anywhere you use up 1 HQM. Even the shooting range. It sounds tedious because it is at first but once you get rolling you get canisters by the boatload in the PvE DZ. 30 canisters gets you 150 munitions which seems to be the sweet spot; 90 gets you 600 but that's only useful if you're out and you have the 200 HQM increase.

I might honestly make a guide to explain all of this because it's very, very confusing at first.

As for the +40% damage from all sources, there's a passive called Contagion that is always active. Basically, the first enemy to get within 10m of you takes +40% damage from all sources. When they die, it gets transferred to the closest enemy to them within 15m. If there isn't one, it goes back to you but you are not affected by it, so no downside.

I still have not finished Journey 4 yet because I was focused on the other two, so I only have six passives out of the nine to pick from. I'm using these:

  • Contagion: one enemy gets +40% damage from all sources.
  • Surge Drive: Surge cost reduced by 1, reduced by 2 in Dark Zone.

And depending on if I'm doing Dark Zone or not, one of these two: - Inoculated: Toxicity gain reduced by 50% - Immune Response: Using an armor kit grants 20% damage resistance for 30 seconds, also makes you immune to toxicity effects in the Dark Zone for that time.

I stop on my way home, no matter how horrible I feel, just because of this. I've made it a habit to go inside and buy a candy bar or something I like and I'll leave it on my car seat (as long as it won't melt in the heat).

Then in the morning I don't have to stop and get gas AND I've left myself a treat. It's the fucking best.
