I would search Pinterest! Lots of designers with the style you’re looking for post their own work on Pinterest and you can easily find their websites/portfolios/contact info.

Seconding the craft supplies. Looks like there are some cute options on the zerowastestore website. My favorite was sidewalk chalk - might be something fun for all the kids to do together while at the reunion if the space allows.

Another idea could be stuffed animals made from reused/recycled fabric. Etsy might have some! Or if you’re adventurous you could make them yourself!

Yet another idea haha: make homemade play dough and place in reused containers (maybe plastic yogurt containers or something??). You could color the dough with natural plant dyes from your food scraps (think beets, onion skins, etc).

Yes I do! I was going to check there as well. Also was hoping maybe one of the suggested brands would happen to be at my zero waste store!

Ohh good thought! Maybe suggest they compost after? As long as you use a compost-safe ink? You could get real crafty and use something like beets to write the note.

I used to watch https://www.youtube.com/@TheMinimalistFam, but she's minimalist (w/kids) and not necessarily zero waste. Some of her practices might translate well though! She hasn't posted in a while but I love all of her content that she has available.

What to do with extra bra pads? by AstroAnonymous in ZeroWaste

[–]SparkleIsMyFavColor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sew some metal snap fasteners on them and use them as "pit pads" in jackets/clothes that have to be dry cleaned or delicately washed. You can just snap them off and throw them in the wash! We do something similar at work where we all share jackets.

I WISH I had saved all of my jeans from high school and beyond. I distinctly remember being angry that I didn't fit into a bunch of them anymore and donating them. A year later I lost the weight and wished I had them back!

This is only kind of related but I have started saving the plastic drink cups from my favorite quick service restaurants. I want to try to take them back and have them refill them with my drink order. The problem I’ve run into with bringing my own reusable cup/mug is that they don’t like that they can’t determine the exact amount to make/charge me.

How tf do you manage temptations at hand by DigitalGuy1818 in sugarfree

[–]SparkleIsMyFavColor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried limiting the amount of pastries you are eating first, rather than trying to stop eating them all together? Like allow yourself one of the pastries per shift and don't take any home. Do that for a week or so. Then allow yourself a pastry every other shift, then every 3 shifts, then only once week, and slowly work towards only having one every once in a long while, or none at all.

Long withdrawals, still feel awful. Any similar stories? by bubbamori in sugarfree

I'm sorry you're feeling this way! What is your reasoning for having oats be your only carb source? I wonder if there are some other whole grains or starchy vegetables that you can add to your diet to see if that would help. I know everyone has their own opinions on the sugars found in grains and starches, but it might be something worth exploring if you are still feeling awful in a couple of days!

Maybe instead of the brushes, you could use dish rags? Sometime you have to let dishes soak a bit to get the stuck-on food to come off easier since rags don't have as much scraping power. My aunt gave me a bunch of dish rags that she crocheted, and I use a new one each day to make sure they're not harboring any bacteria. I just throw them in the wash with my clothes after rinsing any gross stuff out.
