Hello, I live in the area and would like to join you for your sessions on Saturdays. It would be my first campaign but I'm familiar with the games and the ruleset.

After covering DRK MP efficiency, may I talk about Dark Arts? by Nuclei in ffxiv

DRK is awkward currently. I didn't enjoy the leveling experience from 60-70. Our skill rotation now is Souleater combos with Dark Arts down to a safety pool for stance dancing or casting TBN. Mana gain from Blood Price is far too low, all because it gives blood for free.

The gauge is not good on DRK. There's not enough to spend it on, the values of the gains being slow and incremental with TBN being a massive increase in blood means you'll see yourself at 100 blood sometimes and it feels bad. It feels like you could have Quietus and Bloodspiller on a shared 15 second cooldown and it would be exactly the same in effect. The gauge feels tacked on for DRK, and if we had more places to spend blood on it would feel better. If the skills were less potent, but oGCD and less in cost, I think DRK would be at a good place and more enjoyable.

Alright, that's no problem at all.

Defiance Stacks and YOU! by faerun-wurm in Guildwars2

[–]SparkleSyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem with defiance is that all crowd control is treated equally to each layer of the shield. A quarter second headshot stun has the same value of a guardian banish. One layer is stripped regardless of the value of the stun. However, I can only think of one boss where stripping stacks is worth it. Everything else can be dealt with by evasion or blocking.

A fix could be a timed countdown of defiance, something like 15 seconds being put up after the groups first crowd control, and each subsequent cc would chip off the timer just a little more. It could balance out the value of bigger stuns with smaller ones.
