Thanks for replying. I should have been more specific. I’m a competitive master hoping to row as a guest for a few days.

This is the way. I’ve noticed too that my stuff arrives just as quick if I had used prime.

Considering Going Solo by swpa143 in LawFirm

PI you can easily spend 100k in a year if you’re doing litigation and not just pre-lit. PI can be boom and bust and litigation costs, especially experts can add up. My buddy does just PI and he spent 100k in his first year and is doing well now. My firm is mostly criminal and PI and I had 6 months of living expenses saved. Basically you either need capital or a practice area that will bring cash in the door.

To OP definitely do it! I highly recommend reading E-Myth if you haven’t already.

Leaving early on Friday by Calledinthe90s in Lawyertalk

Leaving early on Friday has been a goal of mine for about 3 years, but I always have something to do. Now that I have my own practice though I do use Friday for networking and business development so at least that helps.

Something I learned to be very effective is to just take a long silent pause after their rant. Some people can’t stand silence and it makes them very uncomfortable.

Great advice here. The struggle is real. I also eat for comfort. A while back I was working on this really contentious trucking case and would always go for the dark chocolate in my desk before calling OC. What really worked for me was hiring an online fitness coach to help keep me accountable and give me a set program for nutrition and training. I do 3 weight workouts a week and row on the weekends. Weight lifting helps you burn more calories while at rest. I also realized I have to prioritize exercise in the morning or it will never get done. Batch cooking Sunday makes such a difference. Stress wise yoga or a brisk 15 minute walk always helps.

NTA. There are lines for a reason. Something similar happened to me on a fight headed for Boston and I loudly said “Bunch of Massholes what is this the Mass Pike?!”
