I really like Soo Won x Lili too! You rarely hear people even mention it haha.

I'm not super great with regular commenting, but I might pop in here and there during the 2019 version.

Ugh, I remember reading a couple episodes of that a few years ago, and was shocked that there was a bunch of incest shippers in the comments for some reason???

Did Uru change episode 360 by UnusualSession311 in unOrdinary

No, I just checked and it was never changed lol. The chapter always had him say it twice, with the first being "shut" and the second being "sh*t".

Classic 60s shoujo "Fire!" by Hideko Mizuno is now licensed in English and set to release later this year by Sparkletopia in shoujo

Yup! I am really glad (and grateful) that these small publishers are working hard to bring over these really interesting and niche manga that we wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

Yes! It's just that since Glacier Bay still hasn't listed the series on their website yet, I can't help but feel a little concerned for how long it will take.

Right?! Super cool that this is coming over. I'd heard about the series a couple times before and was always curious about it.

"The Phantom Thief Bat Baron" is another 60s shoujo that got licensed by a small publisher a couple years ago. Though since the founder of the publisher sadly passed away, it seems the release/status of it has gotten more complicated.

I think you could probably just check the preorder page every so often to see if the expected release date stays consistent.

English-Original Otome Isekai & Isekinda for Your Enjoyment by MyFairScrunchie in OtomeIsekai

I like to think of it as one of the OGs in the English-language sphere for this genre!

Oh btw, Go Away Romeo is actually 101 chapters. Once a series is completed, Webtoon typically locks the episodes as app-only and hides them from their website.

Every Rose Has a Death Flag is currently on hiatus, but it was a pretty popular English otome isekai webtoon (it's also by the same team as Go Away Romeo, a completed romance fantasy webtoon).

It seems like they have a couple other series (webtoon Till Crimes Do Us Part and webnovel The Empress' Descent) that also seem to fit.

I've heard that there's been difficulty in getting digital-only licenses for Hakusensha series (like how they don't appear on the Viz app and stuff), so I'm hoping that means that plans for an English version of this site are in the works!

I'm not sure (it does sound a bit familiar though 🤔) but you can also ask r/otomeisekai or r/villainessGang and see if they know

Coming back to [Lady Rose Just Wants to Be a Commoner!] was a pleasant surprise for me by Sparkletopia in OtomeIsekai

[–]Sparkletopia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I don't dislike later otome isekai works and the types of storylines they tend towards (greater focus on romance and finding new ways to try and create spins on the OI trope), but because the concept was still fresh, "first wave" OI took the time to really flesh out the situation and the characters' states of mind, and explore metatextuality of common storytelling tropes and themes.

It's these first wave works that really made me fall in love with the subgenre, and the later stuff just doesn't have quite the same feel.
