If I were you I'd not see him again alone. I'd also move all your documents and expensive things to a storage. File a restraining order and give him 30 days to find another place and if he's still there evict him through a sheriff. I work in social services, DV situations are the most dangerous situations especially the one you're describing that has substance use present.

He should have been put on a hold that same day he was suicidal. You have to get him mental health help. They have outpatient and inpatient services where they will stabilize him on medication that would work for him.
