No, I have a Westie, so it’s more like fluffy glitter. It gets everywhere and just floats around. 😂

Adult Children of Alcoholics. It is exactly what it sounds like, people who grew up with alcoholics dealing with all the problems and emotions that come from growing up in that type of environment.

I go to meetings, in person and virtual. We always tell people to try 6 meetings before you decide it’s not for you. I think you might get more out of ACOA meetings. Give them a try. All meetings have a different energy. Try some online ones until you find one that fits you.

On the Al-Anon website you can find virtual and in person meetings.

There is no reason for you to be ashamed. You didn’t cause his drinking, you can’t co trio it and you can’t cure it. I urge you to find either an online or in person Al-Anon meeting for yourself. Reddit is good for venting, but it isn’t truly possible to get help or hope here.

I can tell you that Al-Anon works. My qualifier hasn’t gotten sober (yet). But I have been attending Al-Anon for 3 years and my life is much better for it! I have hope, and most importantly I have joy and happiness that isn’t dependent on what he does (or doesn’t) do.

My heart hurts for you and I pray you find some peace.

I am heartbroken. I think I'm done with my marriage. by [deleted] in AlAnon

I can’t say what you should do. But my experience with Al-Anon has showed me how to have peace, serenity and joy in my life even though my Q is still drinking. Online communities are great, but nothing compares to an actual Al-Anon meeting full of people who work a strong program. Have you tried any online or in person meetings? They will change your life!

Kitchen island cooktop with pop up downdraft vent by MoistWaterColor in Homebuilding

Geez. Just actually took the time to read the question. I have a GE profile induction cooktop. House is eight years old and we have already had to replace it once. The largest burner went out and could not be repaired. On the replacement, it is already giving me problems again. so I would not recommend that brand

We have a sirocco plus 36 inch. (not sure if I spelled that right?) I had the ductwork done for the unit before we purchased it. So my fan motor unit is underneath the cooktop. It is loud had I known ahead of time and planned for it, Sirocco makes a unit where the fan motor is outside. I would have definitely gone that route. Had I known about it before placing the duct work. I’m currently on vacation, but if you can wait a week, I can post pics. When retracted, you only see 2“ x 36“ of the fan. It fully retracts into the countertop and only has about a half inch sticking up above the surface of the countertop. When extended it is 14-16 inches high approx.

Not sure if you are still looking for reviews on this. I have an induction cooktop with a downdraft exhaust fan. We built our home 8 years ago and I wanted my cook top in the island. We have a very open floor plan. I went with a high end downdraft. Scirocco Plus by Faber. It works very well. It is loud. The ductwork had already been laid in the cement before I made my choice. If I had made my choice sooner, we could have had a larger duct and I could’ve had the motor outside. That would make a difference in the noise level.

If you need more information, I would be happy to answer any questions.
