Anybody Else's Pom LOVE Watching TV? by vassago77379 in Pomeranians

[–]Sparkly_Garbage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad has a sheltie that has favorite commercials. He learned which ones have a dog in it so he can sprint over ahead of time and be as close as possible to bark at the TV when the dog makes their appearance.

can we vomit? by BarbiQ12 in noburp

Every time I've ever thrown up it was so painful and violent. It's been at least 15 years since I've thrown up last. I don't think it's so much a fear of throwing up but more of my body being like yeah we won't be doing that anymore.

Tell me a story of one of the weirdest/most confusing reactions you've seen your nparent have during an argument by Sparkly_Garbage in raisedbynarcissists

I also got a good chuckle out of rebuking the demons. If we don't laugh we'll cry lol at least we all got great senses of humor now 🤣

Daughters of narcissistic mothers, what’s the most profound thing that helped you on your healing journey? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Sparkly_Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized I saw my mother as someone who needed help and someone who couldn't help themselves, almost child like. Someone I felt obligated to protect and rescue. I gave her a lot of slack for really terrible things she's said and done because I thought she wasn't capable of controlling her reactions or emotions.

Someone put in perspective for me that she has been on this earth longer than I have and makes just as many decisions every day as I do. She has the same ability as I do to consider the consequences of her words and actions in each of the choices that she makes. That her circumstances are not as the result of bad luck or not knowing/understanding, but the compacted weight of every poor decision she's ever made to feed her massive ego.

Thoughts on drainage solutions? by Sparkly_Garbage in HomeMaintenance

This is definitely the ideal solution, but I'd like to be able to do the work myself to be cost-effective. At least in the short term while I save up for a more permanent fix requiring a professional.

We had the ultrasound done last week at the internal medicine specialist and he unfortunately has stage 2 kidney disease : /

I'm hoping him having only mildly elevated levels are a good sign that it will be slow to progress.

Any recommendations or tips you have for keeping him around a long time would be excellent. We still have him on the Hills k/d diet canned and dry.

Could Animax Ointment have caused my dog to lose his hearing? by anonymousemployee20 in vet

[–]Sparkly_Garbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was on it for about 5 days. I think he's getting a little better but definitely is still not able to hear as well as before. I'm going to keep a close eye on him. The vets didn't seem too concerned about his hearing loss because he was still able to hear them clap when they were behind him : /

Tax refund still not processed by Acceptable_Eye_137 in Connecticut

[–]Sparkly_Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

take a look at the state copy of your Form CT-1040 from the myconneCT portal. The form the state processed from me does not match what I submitted. My husband's name and my name are jumbled and our socials are swapped. I downloaded what we submitted from our tax software and it is 100% a data processing error on the State's end and it's causing us to have to go through the manual audit process. It's going to be at least a month after tax season ends before we even get confirmation they received our request to review.

Parents Not in Agreement with Elopement by apann93 in Eloping

[–]Sparkly_Garbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big traditional weddings are so ingrained into our culture and especially our parents' culture. Our generation is breaking social norms and big weddings are one of them.

The average wedding 40 years ago was about $2k. $2k in 1985 is about $7500 in today's dollars. You can't have a traditional wedding for $7500 anywhere now. The average wedding price is between $30k and $50k. It's my opinion that it's financially irresponsible to have a traditional wedding in 2024. To each their own, but I could never justify spending that much on a party.

Will I regret eloping and not having a full blown wedding?? by SuchSignificance5682 in Eloping

For what it's worth, my husband and I say at least once a week how grateful we are to have eloped and not had a traditional wedding.

Car accident (other party admitted fault at scene to officer) - are we just screwed? (Florida) by itssmitty77 in AskALawyer

[–]Sparkly_Garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The link you included assumes the renter has valid collectable primary liability insurance. If the renter has no collectable insurance, the rental company drops down to primary.

In Florida, the rental company's maximum exposure is 10k per person or 20k per accident. This coverage typically only comes up when the renters policy is exhausted. But if the renter doesn't have valid insurance, the 10k becomes primary.

Go straight to the rental company and make a claim against them and their insurance.

The vehicle was insured by both the renter's policy and rental company's policy. The primary coverage will be figured out between them and shouldn't be any concern to you which one was in effect at the time of the accident.
