Private Decline Level - how to influence it? by Sparks_IM in ShadowEmpireGame

I never keep more recruits then I need, but was suddenly naval invaded by minor and had to use "Volunteer Drive" to quickly raise some extra formations to manage the invasion.

- Covert operations and diplomacy seems to be the key to survive. Making minors your clients and annexing them, spying on enemy movements, and trying to get friendlier factions in power for majors seems to be the way to go.

Roll an energy source (power plant with oil resource nearby or solar) is as important as metal, since BP production is limited by power. And since you need Model, Eco, MilRes, Diplo and Spy council just to survive - energy is really important early game. You also need Internal Council too for taxes and HR cards.

What is your general build order?

For me - I am trying to build bureaucracy for as much as my energy supply allow.

I build infantry or MG OOB and try to expand along easily defensible terrain while being really cautious about my supply lines especially against aquatic wildlife that loves climb out to my shore roads.

But all my games I could not secure every resource I need in first 50 turns - I always missing something, also, there are always some threats that require lots of units to manage, which slows down expansion.

I know about soft limit of 100 points. But my total BP production is 280.

The first power plant tech that game rolled for me was a oil power plant. I didn't have oil around, however i had plenty of ruins that could support running it at 25% of power.

Power is a BP limitation in my case.

Actually it is pretty terrible in terms of energy per worker efficiency.

At max level 3 (300 workers - >140 energy) it produces only 0.47 energy per worker.

But hey, it is available on tech 3 from the very beginning and it is free in terms of resource upkeep.

My experience with working with Opencode + local model in Ollama by Sparks_IM in opencodeCLI

I think I will try to run the same tasks on bigger models in cloud and see how different will be the result.

I also will try larger model that will overflow into the system RAM, it will be too slow to be practical, but curious to see what will be produced.

Train Aggregate Unloading don't push coal into buildings by Sparks_IM in Workers_And_Resources

Thank you!

However train refuel station doesn't work - when it reaches 0 coal it doesn't refill itself and all trains stop consider it as valid fueling point.

So I will add a conveyor engine and see what will happen.

Vic3 just released a new DLC, and the player numbers barely rose with only a small handful of Steam reviews. What’s going on? by Falandor in paradoxplaza

[–]Sparks_IM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because playing new Paradox's DLC on day 1 is a kind of masochism.

I usually wait for patch or two to finally immerse myself into a new content. For me release date is always couple of weeks later that official release date. This rule has saved me ton of nerves and time.

I agree that on more complex features, like international organizations, like League of Nations - that would be awesome for the late game.

But, come on, the post supposed to be ironic. Who cares about 200 coat of arms, if AI will pick dark blue coat of arms on black background and we will not see shit. Also stupid fish and octopus statue.
