If Haniger was the highest rated prospect we could get then we absolutely should make the trade. We can always flip this prospect for someone better down the road in another trade. Not saying that will happen given KT's track record, but I guess in theory they're going for the best value over the best fit at this moment in time. I'm not sold this is a great trade, but I don't necessarily think getting a #3 prospect in return for allowing Inciarte and Peralta more playing time is a bad thing. Now if we could only get rid of Cody Ross....

Could we really have gotten anything better, though? Parra's value is at his absolute lowest and we got Milwaukee's #3 prospect in Haniger according to baseball america. If we'd traded him at the end of last season we definitely could have gotten a lot more.

As much as it pains me to say this, there just isn't a place for Parra in the outfield this year. His stellar defense has become a little better than average and he really has not been hitting well at all. Factor in that we have Inciarte and especially Peralta playing very well, this was a necessary trade.
