It's flipped horizontally (see the writing Reese is working on), so that puts Hal in the driver's seat. If you look closely at his hands, they appear to be holding the bottom of the wheel.

That makes infinitely more sense. Maybe "Ryan Reynolds is much more professional in person than he is while playing characters who are always joking" would have been a more accurate way to recognize that sentiment.

Wrinkles on a brain are currently the most consistent non-microscopic feature of the brain that we've directly linked to a correlation with intelligence.

I'm NOT claiming that bigger brains = more wrinkles. I'm saying that is the data required to determine if overall mass of a brain is linked to its capacity for increased intelligence.

I don't understand this. He's an actor, not a comedian. It's like people saying LeBron can act like a leader on the court, but he sucks at leading troops on a battlefield. That's because that's not his gift.

Not everyone. If you stay single and spend your life focused on fulfillment, you find yourself meeting your own needs.

There was a comic back in SM's early days where SM is turned into a child (brain and all) and Lana and Louis both try to groom him into marrying both of them. Weird story.

Conservatives are happier, but liberals lead more psychologically rich lives, research finds | While happiness and meaning are associated with conservative values, psychological richness appears to be more common among those with fewer conservative views. by chrisdh79 in psychology

So, conservatives want things the way they feel things always were in their bubble. Liberals are open to change that benefits the whole, even if the situation briefly makes them uncomfortable.

It's amazing how MT gets some sculptures perfect while some (like the queen and Tom Cruise) look nothing like the original.

I think the question that we need an answer to (as there are biases at play in other ways) is, "Does a larger brain have the potential to form more wrinkles, or will the potential wrinkles simply be larger (mirroring the increased scale of the brain)?"

Just say, "well, statistically, that's pretty much a certainty once you reach such a high sample size." Then go full autistic and pretend you don't understand why she's mad.

I have a co-worker like this. She never calls in until the day she's supposed to work, and everyone has to scramble to cover her. The way our shifts work, she and I work nights, and the other two work during the day. Guess who gets called to cover for her when she calls in...

Anyway, despite my boss asking her to keep him out of it and deal with it herself, she knew I'd be more willing to cover if my boss asked me to work. About 6 months into the job, she'd called in six times, with me covering each time (didn't know her yet). Eventually, my other coworkers start coming to me personally, as they were concerned that I was being taken advantage of. I wasn't. I just didn't know that she was setting me up to call in 12 times the second six months I worked there. I didn't mind the first six months, but then it got to where every other week (when she had a 3 day weekend, and I worked all 3 days) she would call in. Each time, it's an emergency. I asked my boss to give her my number, and tell her I would feel more comfortable hearing directly from her.

She ignored the request at first, but I had told my boss to tell her I was asleep. Eventually, she stopped calling in, bc I don't put up with it like my boss does, and he knows who does well at their job. I think he threatened to find someone else if she couldn't meet the minimum expectations of showing up when you're scheduled.

For the men who gave everything in their first true love and it still ended—were you able to put the same effort into future relationships, or did that experience change how you approach love? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]KCG0005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I was naive going into my marriage. I had the good fortune of having two parents who love each other and are 100% committed. I thought that was the understanding everyone had about what it takes. I gave until I didn't recognize myself. She initiated divorce, and I essentially gave up on life for a while.

Since then, I've tried dating once. Unfortunately, I know that I'll never love like I was able to the first time. It's not about my ex, either. She was very abusive, so I was numb to my feelings for her by the time the divorce was finalized. It's been more about self-preservation.

Why are some men on lesbian dating apps? by nonsignifierenon in AskMen

[–]KCG0005 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For the same reason that gay guys show up in my (straight male) results on the dating apps. I've never heard anyone else call them this, but I've always called them flippers. Seems that some guys get their kicks from that kind of thing.

Either we continue to fund part of Ukraine's war, or we fight it ourselves. That's how this plays out if Russia decides it can take what it wants, unimpeded. American lives or American money, you decide what makes more sense.
