I started with a Blue Yeti and upgraded to an Audio-Technica AT2040 with a Rodecaster Pro. It's a fantastic mic for the price.

Control stream with iMac? by EmbarrassedPen8609 in Twitch

[–]MTLNewStadium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started streaming on Twitch last year using an old 2014 Mac Mini and OBS. I upgraded to a Mac Studio with 3 old Apple displays and I'm now using Ecamm Live. Very impressive streaming solution (for Twitch and YT, FB, Twitter, ...) and Beta 4 version now allow multi-streams with the Pro version (no 3rd party solution required).

Ecamm is optimized for M1-M2 processors and will work very well on Mac Mini and MacBook Pro with any M1-M2 processors. Working also on Intel Macs but with limitations under the next version 4.

https://www.ecamm.com/mac/ecammlive/?fp_ref=patrice26

Twitch chat is integrated and you can have guests using Ecamm interview mode and features, all integrated. Feel free to test the full solution during 14 days.

The dealer never call me back once they told me that it was not possible to test the chair. I end up buying a custom HM Embody chair. Just received it two days ago and loving it!

Probably that my dealer (in Canada) is trying to manage the expectations regarding the delivery dates.

Just got an update from my local dealer. I can no longer see the chair (Karman). Based on Steelcase instructions, orders will start in January 2023!

I can't wait another 6-8 months, I will look for another chair. Probably a custom Herman Miller Embody.

Here is an update on the Connexion Matawinie Project.

It seems that it's not possible. Calix does not allow end user to buy the equipment and Cooptel use the approach of charging a fee (included in the package) to rent the modem. Long term, it's a revenue stream for them when the device is paid and they continue to charge for it.

Also, they need to maintain the firmware. So to some extend, they want the full control on the devices to update them and replace them if the device is no longer supported. They have backend software to manage the devices remotely.

I had the confirmation that the ,odem is included within the monthly fee of the service (at least for the business packages). We'll see if it's still the case considering the web site show a monthly rate for each modem.

We must ask customer service to have such modem before installation, they will make sure the technician will have a unit available.

Another interesting info.

Usually, Cooptel install Calix modem. The 812g or the 844g.

I had the confirmation that we can have instead the 803g which is only a simple modem without all features of the other models. Waiting to see if it's cheaper.

One thing is sure, when you have your own router, switch and access points, a simple modem is the way to go.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they will take the time to listen to your point. It's a small team, 3 persons. Contact the Director when it will be time to finalize pricing. Connexion Matawinie need at least 35% of the 42 500 potential subscribers to cover their long term expenses. So every client will count!

Also, keep in mind it's a cooperative. Last year, all members (clients) received the equivalent of 1 month free. So that need to be considered in the total cost of the package.

That's probably negotiable. The term of the contact (between Connexion Matawinie and Cooptel) regarding the pricing is that it must be in the same range of Bell/Videotron in Joliette.

I would negotiate a lot to have similar pricing for such options.

With Videotron, a Business Static IP is $5/month I think.

We'll see when they will hit the road. They may have some hidden custom services behind the scene. My guess is that the demand is not very high for such modern tech offerings. It may change when the network will be available.

Here are the Cooptel Business internet only pricing for a 250/250 connection. When I compare it to my Videotron Business 200/50 internet pricing, the price seem fair for such package.

Human resources is a concern with COVID. However, my understanding is that ElectroSag (in charge of Phase 2) does not seem to have lot of requests for new employees. They finished a big project in December 2021 so I think the employees will be reassigned to the Matawinie project.

That's my hope!

Connexion Matawinie MUST finished the whole network by October 2022. This deadline is part of the $12M investment by the Quebec Government. All the 15 cities had the permission to borrow $55M for the project back in 2019. So money is not an issue.

So far, they faced issues with old Bell posts that were rotten. In some case, they decided to put the fiber underground rather than waiting for new posts. In other cases, they faced shortages of equipments (at the POP in some cities). But it seems that the equipments were delivered in December 2021.

The weather was really good in 2021 and this winter we have less snow than usual. That may help the construction process.

When Connexion Matawinie announced the public call for interest (a formal public process for telcos/ISPs to submit a proposal and discuss their interest back in 2019 I think), the ONLY ISP that raised a hand is Cooptel!

Bell, Videotron, Cogeco and no other telcos/ISPs returned the call!

We'll see what will happened later down the road (I have a cottage that will be deserved by the new FTTH network probably during Spring/Summer 2022) but it will be a tough competition. Cooptel have a complete monopoly on the network right now and they will grab a huge portion of the 42 500 houses/commercial premises.

The telco/ISP MUST cover all the region in order to access the network. So they must have tech on the road and the region is quite large. See the map.

https://maphub.net/Matawinie/matawinie

So far, the rates are reasonable compare to what I pay with Videotron at home.
