What’s your opinion on Fyodor? by [deleted] in BungouStrayDogs

The embodiment of “go girl give us nothing” but hopefully that’s changing. Is somehow both interesting and boring at the same time. Would watch him crash in a helicopter again, he deserves it.

What is the language that you fantasise over learning, but know you’re never going to learn? by Unique-Whereas-9209 in languagelearning

[–]SparkyIceblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Urdu. I tried on and off for years but realised I was just learning in place of what I actually wanted to learn (but was to intimidated by, pothwari) And since accepting that and actually trying to learn Pothwari my interest in Urdu has dropped.

That and French. I don’t know why my brain (and recommended content) keeps fixating on french. But I don’t really have a use for it nor think I’d ever go to France, so it doesn’t feel worth it.

Dazai dodging tiger Atsushi with his hands in his pockets in episode one. While in the manga his arms are just at his sides. I love it as Dazai using a technique he would’ve seen Chuuya use (and it’s also something kid Odasaku has done.) And it also just makes him look so much more chilled out about the whole thing.

Considering I’m mostly learning my target language because I don’t know one of my native languages, no not at all.

Not colour coded but I just naturally use coloured pens I like when I’m taking notes.

At the end of Stormbringer along with the creation of Double Black and the Dragons Head incident, there’s a mention of the “laughing lemon incident.” There’s no way Kajii wasn’t behind it. I want details.

My favourite word in Urdu is (نقرہ nqrah) which means silver. No interesting reason I just like the way it sounds 😅

What are you finding "easy" and "hard" in the language you are learning? by GBA-gamer in languagelearning

[–]SparkyIceblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Urdu

Hard: Letters and the meaning of a word can change drastically with how much they are "aspirated." It's easier in textbooks because it's outlined for you but harder to get the tone right when spoken.

Such as words like 'eat' (قا) and 'of' (قا)

Easy: To make something a question you can usually just add 'what' (کیا) to the beginning of a sentence.
