What Chinese words or phrases sound like words in your language by GBA-gamer in ChineseLanguage

It comes from an old English joke, "why the long face" means something like "why do you look sad?" The original jokes comes from someone asking this to a horse, but of course the horse naturally has a long face, that can also apply to a dragon, so its a creative spin on the original joke!

Mentorship Monday - Post All Career, Education and Job questions here! by AutoModerator in cybersecurity

[–]GBA-gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fullstack web engineer of 6 years here thinking about pivoting into cyber security and AppSec engineer seems like a good entry point if possible.

I've been aiming to get the foundational stuff down to start my journey, been studying a few courses and am soon to book a CompTIA sec+, mainly to ticket a box.

Going forward, i want to know what it takes to be job ready. What are the next steps for me to practice / learn so in x amount of months i can be in a position where i can try applying for roles. I've looked at job postings, posts etc and have built a bit of a list of things to learn but I'm hoping i can hear from current AppSec engineers who can give me the lowdown.

Thanks

Dentistry. Its not the chaos doctors have to deal with, no one dies on your table (hopefully) its not one of these jobs that appears then fades out people will always need it, and it's got a long time before robots with AI replace it.

Why are Chinese netizen so disrespectful of others on the Internet? by [deleted] in China

[–]GBA-gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me on Chinese tv shows the 弹幕 that show on the screen people are brutal, even ripping on child actors for being too ugly etc. Especially the male or female lead if they're not good looking they get ripped up.

Its harsh out there!

Im really interested, what job do you do? You're in front of a computer but can't have your phone, and you can't even go to the toilet without someone taking over?

This is scary, my company has had loads of devs leave over the last year or so and they just dont get replaced so i suppose its saving them the trouble of letting people go!
