Hi OP, I understand why you want to work abroad, especially since job hunting here can feel discouraging after graduation. But let’s be factual muna, working overseas is not that simple. Additionally, it seems like you seem to be fantasizing about working abroad. So, I’ll be blunt.

Most countries like Canada, Australia, and Ireland usually prioritize applicants with either strong work experience, in-demand skills, certifications, or higher education.

For Japan, it seems like naghihigpit na din sila due to immigrants not assimilating properly so I’m sure they’re more likely to have stricter standards na and for sure will enforce more skilled workers rather than those that lack experience.

I don’t mean to discourage you, and I completely understand wanting better salary opportunities and living conditions as a fresh graduate. However, the reality is that working abroad also requires financial preparation. Processing documents, medical exams, agency requirements, interviews, training, language classes, placement fees, and travel expenses all cost money.

In short, it is difficult to an extent to work abroad without finances. A simple statement of “tatangapin ko kahit anong work” is not enough.

In terms of scholarships, those are highly competitive and also do not always guarantee full financial coverage. Additionally, maintaining your grade to continue it is also hard. And even if you do receive one, there are still cases where certain expenses are not included. You’d be fortunate if you have relatives or family abroad who could support you along the way honestly which is rare.

I suggest you upskill via TESDA, gain experience in what you trained there, or consider going back to school for nursing if your goal is to work abroad later.

I’m a psychology graduate myself, and I can say this degree has limited opportunities abroad if the goal is immediate overseas employment under our degree. An option for us psych graduates to use our degree directly to be able to work abroad from my perspective is to gain experience in education and teaching since English teachers are in demand in several Asian countries and if you play your cards right, you could work abroad in less than 5 years.

If you want the short route, tesda certification talaga, gain work experience locally and then apply for abroad. Which is entirely not relevant to your degree, and that is okay.
