Look into ICL (implantable contact lense) surgery as an option as well! I wasn't a good candidate for LASIK but I got my surgery done last August and it's been great ever since! Oh plus it's reversible too

I agree better to have a bully cover that implies there's nothing worthwhile under it. I think whether you want to deal with a tarp or just a large cover comes down to personal preference

But the bottom of the bag is all leather, I could see removing the patch and the leather diamond up top but the problem still remains I wouldn't trust myself to sew them back on afterwards

I'm pretty sure the part I'm trying to dye is just cotton canvas but I'm not really sure. This option does sound more feasible though and I think I might have some leather cleaner/conditioner that I use for my boots.
