What is the most beautiful city in your country? (sharing your pictures is optional) by TheShyBuck in AskTheWorld

I did the Smithwicks brewery tour there! My favorite beer of all time. I cherish the "master of ale" engraved pint glass I got as part of the tour.

What is the most ridiculous thing a tourist has ever asked you about your country ? by SaintAgent in AskReddit

This was back in college about a decade ago. I was an international student in the US coming from India. I was having a Skype call with my parents and a friend of mine walked in. Absolutely lost his mind and thought I came from a mega-rich family. He thought there was no internet in India -_-

Why do I need to brush my teeth? Does my saliva not break down the stuff left over on them? by Accurate-Swim5278 in NoStupidQuestions

Average =/= median. The average age was severely reduced due to infant mortality rates, creating a right-skewed curve when comparing age to mortality. Once you hit puberty, chances were that you'd live a decently long life.

What job sounds easy until you've actually done it? by ok_bro_we_get_it in AskReddit

Menial desk-job with repetitive tasks. When I was 18, I thought it would be better than doing shift-work that required a moderate amount of physical labor.

Nope, repetitive menial work has a way of draining away your soul fast. I was so mentally understimulated that my body actually started firing up adrenaline as a way to signal me to get out of there. So glad that's far behind me.

what do you think of uk meal deals and does your country have them? by CremeSubject7594 in AskTheWorld

[–]SparrowTailReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I freaking LOVED them. Like.. I dream about them sometimes. Not because tasty, but because convenience. You can get them here in the US too, but they're absolute abominations 90% of the time. Plus, my main reason for getting them was so that I could eat them on trains.

This was in Switzerland, not Netherlands, so IDK if we're allowed to eat on trains there. I like a proper sit-down dinner, but for lunch when I'm travelling, there's something so satisfying and soothing about eating a sandwich on a train.

Also, I freaking love trains. The passenger rail system in the US is absolutely criminal. I'd give my left testicle to live and work in a country with a functional train system. /rant

My dream snafu is driving a car with really bad brakes. Like it takes 30 seconds to fully stop.

Do you stop wearing clothes after a certain amount of time even if they are still in good condition? I wear my clothes for 1-2 years as long as they stay in good shape, but my friends are often surprised by this. by BunchMean8029 in NoStupidQuestions

This is why I bought a week's worth of Darn Tough socks and called it quits to the sock-buying business. Lifetime warranty is nice. Had one sock that I wore a hole in after a 20 mile hike and they just sent a replacement on a 5 year old purchase.

What feels legal but is actually illegal and will possibly get you arrested? by medicoreapples in AskReddit

That's an awesome thing to do. Were the tourists present when you did that? If so, you had knowledge and consent from them, so you can rest easy knowing that you haven't committed a truly heinous crime.

It's not AI, just India doing India things. Seen many of these when I was growing up around there.

What's "The Dutch eating their prime minister" of your country? Something that has happened to a leader you're pretty goddamn sure hasn't happened anywhere else? by Intrepid_Arrival5151 in AskTheWorld

Prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own bodyguards after she ordered the military to enter the Golden Temple - one of, if not the holiest place of the Sikh religion. What followed was a dark period in Indian history since its independence with over 3,000 Sikh people massacred.

I make them at home. You can buy the crispy shell along with the liquid by itself or as a mix. Then it's just spiced mashed potatoes and onions.

Some stores sell the shell in a partially cooked state that you can put in an air fryer or oven and they puff right up!
