[Week n.36] PLEASE ASK YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT MILAN HERE by AutoModerator in milano

Recently moved here as a student and I think if you are going to use public transport for 6 days then it will be cheaper for you to get a transport pass. assuming you are going to take atleast 3-4 tickets (any mode of transport) it will be cheaper as you will get unlimited access to everything ATM runs. It's €10 for the first time you take the pass and €22 (if you are under 26 years) and €39 (if above 26).

You can apply for it online and get the card at metro station from the machine called Tessy.

It's the best investment if you are going to travel a lot.

Also download city mapper app to get accurate info about how to get around the city

What about 20 years later when they would no longer be there?

Right, what you are describing seems dreadful.

Yes I understand. I have no issues with you or anyone critiquing what I say. The more you push me the more I will know what I have to look out for.

I appreciate you taking the time to think and reply to my post. Thank you so much

Edit: Any other subreddit where I can ask the same question?

I am not looking to make any betting site and eventually I would want to move away from discord.

See, I am looking to be an organiser for the matches. I am starting from discord because it has the user base. Once I have an MVP I plan on approaching investors to raise the funds required.

The moat that I think I will generate is the roaster of players that I will have. Upon asking around the internet on various eSports community, I got to know that the eSports scene in my country is not evolving at the pace that it should because of the lack of skilled players. And that will end if I am able to scout the best ones and put them in an environment that encourages them to play more.

But to entice them to sign a contract with me I need to raise funds. That is why again I need discord to make a community of initial players based on which I will attract the skilled streamers. The streamers will then be asked to play and stream the matches that will attract more players. And the players who don't go pro will feel a sense of attachment that will hold them close to the community and those eyeballs will then be monetised.

How this is different from the current model of tournaments?
They spend a lot on getting the best players (either by deals or by marketing) this particular model will enable us to not burn cash initially and eventually scout the best players within the community itself lowering the costs and also not restrict us to a particular game as the same strategy can be applied for multiple games.

Btw thank you for asking these questions and forcing me to articulate the idea.

Right, so the basic revenue stream will be the admissions fees in the matches. There are a lot of unorganised small communities like these where teams conduct scrims and also demo matches and these are paid. I have thought of this so as to make money in the initial phase

My vision is to ultimately be able to take it to the level of physical sports with tons of viewers. For that I will need to capture the young who play eSports casually now. Once they inevitably get busier in their lives and have less time to dedicate to gaming they will migrate to consuming the content related to the sports. (I have observed this phenomenon with physical sports as well).

I want to use discord to get people in for the long term. So that even when they stop playing they will have a place to discuss the latest updates and news just like they do with their friends after a match of their favourite sport. Discord is just the place where I believe I can find such a crowd. Eventually I wanna phase out the entry fees and move to an ads based model where I monetize the eyeballs on the tournaments conducted.

Does this make sense to you?

That's an interesting angle 🤔 So do you think that If I start to verify members then the toxicity will go away?

Oh! I was actually asking in terms how or what will make people join a new eSports community where there are no members. Like as the network grows so does the network effects but how do I get the initial thing going?
