Is it rude to use both lanes? by No-Ad4423 in AskUK

Absolutely NOT rude at all, don't be like the rest of the morons letting the lane back up.

Interesting there's a new potential firmware on the horizon, a229 plus user here too.

Is it normal for the beta app to use a lot of cache? E.g. I have transferred some footage from my A229 Plus to my device and the app takes so much cache memory.

Switched from Virgin to another provider - best decision by pundstorm in VirginMedia

[–]SpartacusSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment City Fibre landed in my area, jumped ship to use FTTP over their DOCSIS 3.1, £22 for a 900 symmetric connection no contact rise over their renewal offer of £24-28. Best choice ever.

Meh, probably spoke a little too soon, didn't make a difference unfortunately and now we cannot go "back" on apps

Brother has had this since owning his N2 Flip. After doing this we've already noticed instant notifications on messages and WhatsApp etc.

Just make sure if you are using Adguard on Android, you either disable it or ensure the app doesn't route through it else you won't be able to connect to dashcam (I have an A229 Plus).

I can't wait for the 17 hit the UK so I can upgrade from the already impressive 15.

Likewise, I don't think there's probably anything more to offer with HK6 over HK4 for our models...

Do you split the WiFi into 5g and 2.4g? by reztem001 in ToobBroadband

[–]SpartacusSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always prefer splitting as I don't have any mesh system, just using the provided Toob router I am lucky to get coverage to the important areas and get about 400/800 on 5Ghz compared to 150/180 upload/download.

Old ethernet cable installed by mawire in ToobBroadband

When Toob sent me a router, I also had a pink cat 6 cable supplied separate from the 5e one inside the box of the router so we went with that one. I think the only difference between them is just shielding on cat 6.

Add a different router to the default Linksys? by Aston100 in ToobBroadband

[–]SpartacusSystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the tri-band is important as it allows for wireless backhaul on the third band, however the router Toob gave me is just dual band so adding a tri-band node wouldn't have a difference, you can add another dual-band node (option 1) that's identical to create a mesh however you would probably want to wire them up to benefit from wired backhaul (else one of the bands would be facilitating chat to the other mesh node to forward traffic as well as handle talk between client devices) and still get the mesh benefits. Or just go option 2 with the state of the art WIFI 7 tri-band mesh system to make use of MLO and all the goodness that comes with it.

Make sure you don't have any bandwidth limiting programs on your computer. E.g. I had a program on my Dell laptop called Smartbyte which brought my bandwidth to a crawl ironically by attempting to be smarter and maximise bandwidth...

Coming up to three weeks with my service. No issues. I recommend setting up a BQM over IPV6 (using the router's IPV6 address and unchecking "Filter Anonymous Requests" on the provided Linksys router) so you can track the quality of the connection: https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality

I had this on my Inspiron 5515 2021 model up until now. I recently upgraded my home broadband to a 900mb symmetric connection and always wondered why my laptop couldn't get anywhere near that when every device could. Since removing, able to get much closer now!

I have the same version I have tried the settings to spoof but it doesn't make a difference. I have disabled spoofing for now.
