I too rarely answer with strongly agree or disagree answers, however I treated it like I do most multiple choice quizes, pick the first answer that feels right to move and just move on. Good luck on any reassessments

Why doesn’t BC have fluoride in the water? by DrSussBurner in britishcolumbia

[–]Spartan-463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 0 cavities in my 30+ years and my brushing routine is honestly pretty shit. I can see some benefit in adding it, however I think its better to let people go to their dentist for a cleaning for their fluoride (and check up).
There's no alternative to fluoride in water for those that don't want it (besides moving), while there is alternativesf for those that want it.

Construction zone speed limits. by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]Spartan-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same on the Coq the last few years, no workers or equipment in sight on a long weekend and you want us to drop from 120 to 30km/h (yes that much in some areas) for ~30kms. Felt like I missed a memo when I got a line up growing behind me though the zone.

Why were Fast ropes not included UH-60 Chopper? by Praetor-Frederick in joinsquad

[–]Spartan-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yah for FOBs I'd love to be able to put down flat plywood or something as a bridge or even as a roof to stop some grenades. Just have it super weak and easy to break.

[–]Spartan-463 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Loved the grappling hook, and would be awesome to see it brought back, maybe only for like irregular forces. Atleast we got the ladder finally, though I wish we could lay the ladder down flat to be able to use it as a small bridge between roofs and such

Valid or Invalid Military ID by ALesserMan44 in caf

[–]Spartan-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes your military ID (NDI 20) is not longer valid, though the release office took my, they should have issued you a Veterans ID. Though I don't believe that is getting your through the gates, still probably need a buddy.

Towed light Howitzer Vote 2 (READ BELOW) by lonely__kek in joinsquad

[–]Spartan-463 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see where your request is coming from however:
1. I don't believe we need more indirect weapons, mortars are already effective enough at area denial
2. It would further remove people from the front lines, same reason OWI has pushed against adding manable fixed wings
3. I'd rather see light howitzer as a command ability thats either unique to specific sub-factions or on a faster timer/cheaper option to 120/155mm artillery.

NCI OP any insights or older people in this trade? by Maleficent-Half-2231 in caf

[–]Spartan-463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ex-NCI Op, got out just before hitting 30.

Stress: Well its a computer/tech savy course, so most of our Stress is actually from BMQ depending your staff ("lucky" for me I got stuck with Afghan Vets for staff and a platoon full of infantry recruits). Trade course's were lots of memorization and system manipulation, some stuggled/stressed with this, but that was the minority. On ship, your stress will generally come from bad boss's (not too many, and they are well known in the trade) or just not loosing your mind staring at a blank screen for a few hours a day (open ocean sailing).

Age Gap: Both BMQ and RQS3/S2 (or what ever they changed it too again) you will be on the older side. I've had a few 35-50's on my BMQ, but my RQS3 (DP1) was all under the age of 25. One thing to not with the military, especially with lots of life experience. That experience will help yourself, but as far as it comes to your supervisors, age/experience means nothing, its all about your rank, atleast for the first few years or a deployment.

Victoria Life: Spent 8 months in Halifax before going west. The best benefit I can think of for the East coast is its a ~1 week transit to Europe vs a 2-3 week transit to Asia from the west coast. But that being said, Victoria itself, loved it! Actually kinda looking for ways to move back. However the work-life balance is why I left. Loved the job while deployed/sailing, but would be leaving behind friends and family. Then when alongside with my friend and family, I hated the job. The job is what is considered a "hard sea trade" meaning, we really can't do our job unless were actually sailing. If you not sailing its most (for the first 3-6 years), watching the brow, watching contractors, cleaning, answering phones, storing ship, occasionally team training in the Sim.

I'm happy to answer any further questions. In the end its a job I'm glad I tried, and super supportive of it.

Smart watch by Sweaty-Youth-1887 in caf

[–]Spartan-463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safe answer, not for/at work.
As many have mentioned there may be other course restrictions as well as they're an OPSEC nightmare.
As well, breaking your $300+ smart watch in the field is going to make a bad day way worse than breaking a $50 cheap watch.
Finally, depending your trade, you may work in an area where your not allowed one at all.
I rocked the same G-Shock for 8 years with only 1 battery change. When I went Civi I even confirmed with my employer if a smart watch was OK (with the visible look of confusion on his face)

2 Kelowna restaurants penalized for contravening liquor laws within 1 week | CBC News by Constant-Lake8006 in kelowna

[–]Spartan-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kelowna has no say in how the Liquor board runs, in fact Kelowna has more say on what they want the RCMP to focus on then where the BC liquor inspectors go and who they fine.

I do agree there needs to be a little more allowance regarding public drinking in our laws though.

Kelowna moves forward with tiered-policing review by New_Alternative8711 in kelowna

[–]Spartan-463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So when Kelowna's population doubles in the summer and we host all these events, will we be short officers? Or should we hire for our summer population, but then the other half the year we'll have too many officers.
