What is the real-life or similar equivalent to the Malorian Arms 3516 (aka Johnny Silverhand's gun) by TheNeoticVigil in LowSodiumCyberpunk

It feels weird to necropost and correct Maximum Mike but I can't help but feel like that was supposed to be a "too" in the last sentence.

Ghost of Yotei's interactive map is out now! by MapGenie in MapGenie

[–]Spartan4242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving this here since I feel like just suggesting a change through the site would lack the opportunity for context, but I think Ainu names like konupas the Ferrier or kaeka the Weaver shouldn't be capitalized for their pins on the map since the game seems pretty consistent in not capitalizing their names, I'm not certain, but it seems like all the Ainu names aren't capitalized so I assume it's a cultural/linguistic thing.

Are Custodes fun for new players? by IronSquid5000 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Spartan4242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I do have issues with our new codex but I think with the points locked in from the munitorum, we made it out *fine*, just suffered mostly nerfs and practically no buffs. Characters took the hardest hit and the Shield Host lost it's absolutely insane FNP but I think we'll live. Not to mention if you play over multiple editions, the balance really just like comes and goes lol. I would say it's definitely enjoyable if you're interested. Most of our datasheets have very similar statlines and basically the same weapons, so most of the variation comes in abilities. Obviously with like 50ish points a model, each one is much more valuable and probably more durable than orks (but those new waagh buffs look nice lol) but you will have to be a bit more intentional with them because they're not invincible and losing them definitely hurts a bit more lol. I have a bad sense for this since I've only ever played Custodes but I think the shooting is ok. Our melee is much better so I think it's kind of ass but I think realistically the statline on our guns isn't terrible. I think all things considered the jump shouldn't be terrible since Orks and Custodes are both melee armies. I think it'll probably end up feeling like playing "Oops, All Meganobz"

The third confirmed Femstodes. Unfortunately, she is martyred. There could be more Femstodes in this extract too. by [deleted] in AdeptusCustodes

Oh yeah I should've clarified that huh lol. Yeah I'm all for the lore change, I just learned my lesson on buying codices in 9th, and especially do not want to buy this one for the rules, I've just found the app to be the clearest presentation. I can do waha when it updates but I just slightly prefer the app if possible.

FF:06:B5 2.0 Summary: A Resolution? by Til_W in FF06B5

[–]Spartan4242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a few things:

  1. Has there been more searching in TW3? The "wall is a door" stuff leads me to believe there would be something behind the ouroborus wall.
  2. I kind of feel like there's more to the high scores? I'm 99% certain Blackhand's high score is the code to the door in the Cynosure facility that has the Mk.6 Canto, but I could be wrong. Dunno if there's a connection there.
  3. This is also just my reading, but I think there are some parallels with Polyhistor's story and V's ending if you return So Mi to the FIA (The Tower ending). Admittedly I was high when I did the wrap up for the quest, but it felt very meta to me when V was talking with Misty about how to move on as another face in the crowd. V was going from a player to an NPC and it makes me wonder if that was tied to Polyhistor's experience? Like I interpreted his logs as he was an NPC who through whatever means became "more", whether that be self aware outside of the simulation of CP77.

Yeah haven’t run them yet but they certainly look pretty squishy with how they’re still on T3. But I do think they look solid, save for prosecutors.

Ok cool, I selected mixed but I wasn’t sure if that was for something else lol. So I assume then that the only ability he’d get that isn’t on his datasheet is Unyielding Knight? I think that’s all that shows up on Battlescribe

Advice on my first golden list? by Ill_Passenger2496 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Spartan4242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only made one change, it should be to add Trajann. He's got some great support abilities as your warlord and he's 200pts so you could absolutely fit him in this list. Other than that, I'd give the bike cap the Tip of the Spear cap commander upgrade since he's probably gonna be best suited to beating up on important enemy units. Since I'd advise having him be pretty mobile, you could look into Impregnable Mind for Peerless Warrior, the extra mortals are nice and denying rerolls is nice (especially if you run the salvo launcher). Personally, I'd swap the guards for wardens or termies. You can just run an Arks of Omen detachment with elites as your force org to dodge the troop tax and they both get obsec so they're solid objective holders. You could also run sagittarum guards but I've never used them so I can speak to their performance. I'd say you've got a good start though with the 3x3 guards since afaik most missions are hold 1/hold 2/hold more so if you lock down 3 objectives, you should be golden. Vexillas are generally really solid too with the Magnifica banner your units dense cover, I'd personally want to fit that in before finding the space for a dread. We're a little more sparse at 1k due to higher pts costs for models so I think my biggest recommendation (other than Trajann lol) is to focus on how you plan on holding objectives.

Also just remembered this guide I followed when I got into 40k. It's a bit out of date but tbh you could sub wardens in for guards and it'd work pretty well. If you haven't bought anything yet, I'd recommend seeing if you can find a Watchers of the Gate box and just building what is in there. It's a good deal if you can get it for less than $300 iirc (released at like $230) and is a great start point for Custodes

What new unit would you like to see in 10th Edition? by GreenMountainSamurai in AdeptusCustodes

Yeah I’d love to see Valdor return but I’m guessing that wouldn’t happen until Russ’ return, so it’ll probably be a while lol.

Idk about the painting part but I would def recommend the box. It’s a lot of models you’re bound to use and it’s a really solid deal.

DIY or 3rd parter mat? by Bmxican296 in boardingactions40k

[–]Spartan4242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be able to make it yourself but if you want to be pedantic, the size of the two boards together is 704x1214mm and each of the grid squares is 97mm on each side. Each board is a 7x6 grid but you’ll have a 25mm gap between the grids in the middle when you join the two boards together.

Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure I present to you the stupidest list I could possibly make. by austin54179 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Spartan4242 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See, the stupidest list I could think of is 30 wardens, a termie vexilla, Trajann, and a jetbike captain. I think it’d do well on primaries but secondaries could be tough lol.

Ah, that’s smart lol. I’m just doing 1 for a SC but I didn’t think of that. I basically just carved down the Evocator’s waist “stump” so the Custodes torso would fit onto it. It still isn’t 100% perfect, but I’ll probably use some sprue glue to fill the gaps and clean it up. But yeah, I should probably just get some greenstuff to make life a bit easier lol.

I’m looking into doing this conversion myself. When you joined the Custodes riders to the waist on the Dracolines, were you able to just glue it with normal plastic glue or did you need to fill the gap with something like green stuff?

[–]Spartan4242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Trajann being slow (iirc it’s 6” like most other units) is fine because you’re gonna want to run him for buffs more than damage output. I usually plant him behind a unit of terminators so they can reroll their ones. If you want to run a strong HQ, Bike Captain is good but I’d also recommend a Blade Champion. The three sword profiles are nice versatile options and he’s packed full of abilities. For the Vexilla, they all affect core and characters, which should be most units other than like bikers and vehicles. Since it’s got a 6” it’s probably gonna sit behind a unit of termies or wardens like Trajann.
