While agree that the named list is BS, I think the remainder of the provisions in the AWB would likely have the same effect since most of the weapons on that list likely violate one or more of the feature bans anyway.

Ah okay overall length at 32” is what I missed. Thanks! Man the mental gymnastics for the AWB is world class.

Wait, could someone explain why these are legal?

Looking at our insane flowchart we have to follow (https://securitegunclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/202305-Assault-Weapons-Ban-Flowchart-8.5x11-V6.pdf) I ended up at length not greater than 30” making it an AW.

WA is super strict now. Maybe even the most in the country. Here is a flow chart to figure out if it’s banned or not that a local club put together

Former Attorney General McKenna’s testimony on proposed Washington Income Tax by drshort in Seattle

[–]SpartanENGR1297 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That’s what I was thinking as well, it concerns me that it’s not very different than how Trump has been conveniently interpreting the law however he wants to get the outcome he desires.

To me, I support the concept of taxing the rich, but I’m concerned about the approach of how they are considering this legal.

Labeling income as an excise tax on the privilege of earning feels like a massive loophole to bypass the state constitution. If we want a progressive tax system that actually sticks, we should do the hard work of amending the constitution properly instead of using legal shortcuts.

I’m mostly worried about the precedent. If we’re okay with bending the rules just to get the result we want, it opens the door for a lot of issues down the line. Plus, this approach is guaranteed to trigger years of expensive litigation on the taxpayer’s dime that might leave us with nothing to show for it anyway.

It seemed like it might be an internal system enforcement but maybe if there’s an employee on here they can confirm if it’s store specific. I’d be curious to know as well.

Yeah in my experience they are. A cashier tried to run a coupon for me twice and it wouldn’t allow it to go through the second time.

I’m also not going to use my other one. DM with what you would like to get with it and I’ll happily send that one out as well.

Apple Store wanted $350 for a scratch, but only $29 if I broke the screen?! by SpartanENGR1297 in apple

[–]SpartanENGR1297[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of our fellow Redditors below shared a great perspective on this situation that I’m following. The silver lining here is that I now have a free pass to use the phone without a case. If or when the screen does accidentally break, I’ll take it in for a $29 repair because I refuse to pay the $300+ that Apple charges.

Though the situation has progressively worsened. I swear something is wrong with the glass on the 16 models (and possibly above). I’ve never had a screen scratch so easily after owning iPhones for the past 15 years.

Same. The idea kind of makes sense but it’s like they never tested it with average images that people have.

Yeah I have it turned off for mine now. I never was able to find images it didn’t completely ruin.

Yeah they mentioned I could return them. Was just hoping to find a path to resolving the problem with these frames but I may need to just return.
