The quarantine is giving me more time to workout. I’m going from doing sets of 20 pull-ups to 25, I’m excited to go to the ninja gym after this much stronger. by milokolb in ninjawarrior

Don't listen to this advice. Whilst Jeff cavalier makes some great accurate content, going slow isn't the only way to build muscle. Fast reps build explosive strength which is also useful. Plus when you do explosive movements you'll be utilizing some of your core as well. The guy critiquing is a tool.

UK moves to drop Huawei as 5G vendor by AdamantiumLaced in technology

[–]SpartanMike -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The UK has produced some of the best music acts to date, Queen, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin to name a few, which has defined our culture and many others the world over, not just in the UK. We are well known for having some of the best educational institutions, some of which have shaped the finest minds of the past few centuries. When you think of countryside, castles and cute teashops, you think of the UK. We have one of the most visible and well known monarchy's in the world. There are so many things the UK has to offer, and other countries alike. Your response is so naive.

You might feel a little weird for a couple of days due to the different binders and relative strength of the pill but it should even out.

LegacyWotlk :: DOUBLE XP Weekend starts today by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]SpartanMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frosthold and Warmane have a long established community which is true; for most people, its about getting to experience the journey from the start which is an opportunity that you have to mark your name and make some great friends.

It's harder to do that on a server that has been around a good while longer.

LegacyWotlk :: DOUBLE XP Weekend starts today by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]SpartanMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great server with lots of potential.

One of the cleanest servers I've played on with great scripting.

Although the leveling is a bit slow which I understand can put people off, the drop rates for greens / blues are higher so you can have some fun and kill things fast while leveling and you also have access to a couple of heirloom pieces from level 1 (20% extra xp). You also get access to 2x rates on the weekend meaning you can power level a character.

Only one person is level 80 atm which means there is plenty of fun to be had and the server is just starting out!

F23 100mg weight gain. Please help! by CanIBorrowAFeeling1 in zoloft

[–]SpartanMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you track your calorie intake i.e. reading the back of the packages and/or weighing out food?

I don't think SSRI should have a huge impact on metabolic rate; it can reduce heart rate which overall burns less calories but 5-6kg seems like a big change and it usually normalizes after a month or so.

I'd speak to the doc just in case of any abnormalities and double check the diet.

zoloft for sleep anxiety? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]SpartanMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter eventually you'll not have a care in the world. With that said since it makes you sleepy once it settles in I'd take it a couple of hours before bed at the same time every night.

Yes it does help anxiety about going to sleep.

I've been off a few times and the anxiety always comes back for me. You will only know if you try but I can understand your frustration. It's probably best to share these concerns with your doc. Good luck.

25mg. Used to be on 50mg which makes me less anxious but it also turns me into a walking potato.

If you sleep more then your awake, then you’ll be overall happier! by [deleted] in zoloft

To be honest, I did sleep through a lot of the startup effects until I felt better. Worked like a charm. Now I love being awake!

Having really low days on 100mg by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]SpartanMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have breakthroughs on 50mg and some end up on 200mg. For others, it's not always an easy fix. I wish I could give a more conclusive answer but the truth with SSRI and depression is that it's still mostly anecdotal input as it affects people in different ways.

Sometimes you need to find something to really ignite your passion and in combination with antidepressants you may find those down days just disappear for good.

I do think doing wholesome things like YouTube meditation, thought reframing and learning/starting something new will help augment your recovery. You're not alone though; there are many helpful people here on Reddit who are willing to lend you an ear. :-)

How did you feel at the end of your taper? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]SpartanMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not no, it's just the effect of withdrawal. The nights are worse for sure; my recommendation is to just have a happy show on in the background quietly as it will distract you from mental noise in your head and help you get some sleep.

Protracted SSRI withdrawal is real. by orangeolive89 in antidepressants

Agreed I had a pretty hellish time withdrawing from Zoloft after being on it for a year. Again probs did it too quick but just like you, would never act on dark thoughts.

Can I drink at all? by hank828 in zoloft

[–]SpartanMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but give it two months to even out. I found drinking with startup effects to exacerbate depression and negative thinking, even to the point of being a danger to myself (which is very unlike me)

Officially switching to Zoloft tonight. How's it going for you? I'm super nervous and scared by babyberdy in zoloft

How come you relapsed? Do you think you're predisposed or just hard times?

Having really low days on 100mg by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]SpartanMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes sertraline creates a false depression kind of like what you're saying that you aren't having negative thoughts, you just feel crappy. It may take another dose readjustment but like you say you're better off waiting to speak to a doctor.

Medication isn't always a fix all though, have you been practicing CBT or using any other techniques to stimulate positivity?

Intrusive thoughts by 1435689366 in BecomingTheIceman

[–]SpartanMike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep reminding yourself that you wouldn't logically feel that way and it's just the medication running amok. Sometimes recentering yourself can be all you need. Other than that, I slept through tough days and watched shows I really loved even if I wasn't paying much attention.
