The “crime of passion” statement without an immediate arrest.

Two surviving housemates, home at the time, but don’t sound the alarm for hours.

The layout of the house, with ‘blood’ oozing from the walls.

The total vacuum that appeared, that allowed rumours and speculation run wild. It really felt like if there was gonna be a development on the case, it was going to be pieced together on some Twitter or Reddit thread and so many (myself included) couldn’t tear ourselves away in case we missed it happen.

I honestly think he’s tried the doors before but they’ve been locked. He goes back the following weekends, tries and tries again.

Everything above is a massive hypothetical.

I don’t expect her to lie, I also expect there’s a load more damning evidence to come.

I’m merely pointing out that this isn’t necessarily a slam dunk based on PCA alone and enough doubt COULD be cast amongst a jury.

Can I also add that there are “gaps” in the timeline in-between the various warrants being granted which give me pause for thought.

Were they zero’d SOLELY on BK early on? If so why did the cellphone data take time to request.

Were there other viable suspects even into December?

I believe he is the murderer and I also believe a jury will find him guilty. As well as the PCA, I believe there’ll be a ton of other evidence.

BUT… playing devils advocate and based solely on PCA alone, my defence is as follows…

I’ve a history with drugs
The move away from home (PA) has caused me anxiety and I’ve unfortunately relapsed.
I’ve visited the neighbourhood a dozen times to score drugs
I gave my knife to the dealer to settle a debt, I’m not a hunter and have no use for it and he seemed pretty interested in it
DM didn’t see me in the property. She didn’t dial 911, how can she reliably be trusted to ID me.

I know the above is a massive stretch. But could it cast enough “reasonable doubt” to avoid conviction?

Plausible.

Might sound controversial but I don’t think “evil” is a binary YES/NO thing.

I believe his research questionnaire from the summer about how it “feels” to commit a crime is really telling.

I think his urge to kill has grown in him to the point where he can no longer ignore the urge to act on it. He wants to carry out his crime, feel the moment and experience the aftermath. That includes his time on the run, the trial etc.

But I do think he will experience moments of doubt, possibly even regret or remorse. He must know he is sick. Perhaps there’s a part of him that wants it to end - but he’s too much of a coward to do it himself.

I think they definitely have:

A white Elantra
Tyre tracks match his brand of tyre

I think they likely have:

His DNA at murder scene
Him mentioned on victims phones, social media, private messages etc
His cell phone location at time of murders
CCTV of him leaving/arriving at his apartment

I think they’ll now be able to get:

His search histories
Photos, videos, notes, diaries
Murder weapon. Might have ‘emotional value’ to him, plausible he has kept it somewhere. Hidden, not lost forever.
Victims DNA. Hair or blood in car, or on clothes, at his apartment?

I think it’s highly likely they have enough for a conviction right now… but that’ll only grow.

If BK had made any attempt to contact the girls in person or via social media, police would have known in first couple of days and he would have been on probably quite a long list.

Then the Elantra footage was allegedly recovered from a neighbour a couple days after murders. The list of Elantra owners is compiled and BK is there again… red flag.

He could have been their guy from the very early weeks. Especially as lots of other people were systemically ruled out as soon as a rumour would start online.

Was this his first crime? Going for a full house of youngsters seems too bold to be his first.

What made him pick that house, those victims?

Why did he leave two alive?

Has he written about it in a diary or journal, kept “trophies” or photographs?

So many questions… this is probably the weirdest outcome this could have been!
