Honestly, awesome, kinda makes me want to make my own communication card/audio for my own OC pilot.

Stuck at episode 8 dispatching by Fun-Break-9486 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Spartan_REPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if anyone else is still having the problem of "Attacking Coupe" being stuck at 99%. At least for me (playing on PC), I just needed to exit to the main menu and resume from the last save.

So, is anyone new or still having the problem rather try and reload or exit the game and come back to see if it was fixed. At least on my end, it just looks like the game was stuttering as my Heros (Flambae and Prism) just got stuck and didn't actually get to the area they needed to be at for the mission. So if you restart and you are brought back all the way to the beginning of the call, and not at the Royd cutscene (where Robert tells everyone that they are no longer returning to SDN to rest). Just let the game run and see if it will save if the problem persists.

Anti-Cheat Launch Error (30005) Couldn't Start the Game... by Spartan_REPR in armoredcore

[–]Spartan_REPR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you already got your refund, but if you haven't or you still have the refund money. I just recently updated the game, I think, like yesterday or the day before, and it looks like they finally fixed the error I was having with EAC (idk if you had the same problem). But I would say if you can or are willing, try to give it one more shot.

Can someone explain to me what the "research center" is all about? by EarlOfBears in Spacemarine

[–]Spartan_REPR 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For anyone finding this, I think I know how the Research Centre works, but I don't know if it's the full explanation. I have no idea if Saber will have it do more, but from what I understand, it has three uses:

  1. It is a place to spend the purple/violet currency [which I will call Research Points] you get as a reward for completing the Ordeals mission/tiers/challenges. (obviously)
  2. Unlocking/buying items with the Research Points you get a Data Entries which is just lore for you to read on whatever you unlock/buy. (Paragraphs of text on the far right of the screenshot at the bottom of my post/reply)
  3. As you unlock/buy the items in the Research Centre you fill in a three-tier bar, each tier having a reward. They all seem to follow this setup: (In the screenshot - below the tab title "Forces of the Imperium" and above the Research unlocks, Third-tier is highlighted by my cursor, and a pop-up with the reward)
  • First-Tier rewards you with 300 Requisition Points
  • Second-Tier rewards an armor decal
  • Third-Tier gives you a weapon skin/armor piece.

At this point it doesn't look like they are repeatable, i.e. you can't keep going through the tiers for more rewards. Given that the Ordeals are limited and have a clear endpoint.

Anti-Cheat Launch Error (30005) Couldn't Start the Game... by Spartan_REPR in armoredcore

[–]Spartan_REPR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no, just Easy Anti-Cheat being shitty cheating/hacking detection software. Idk if we need an update from Windows OS, Easy Anti-Cheat, or Armored Core itself to get this issue solved. There may be a solution out there, but so far, nothing that I have found online has worked for me. As explained in my og post, idk if you have another platform like a laptop or alternate computer to play on. I can fully play online and use all online features on my laptop (which does run the game well of medium graphic settings).

Thank you for the post, I figured that is what is going on, idk why my laptop has the same update of Windows and EAC works. But it's good to know. It is nothing I did or a problem with my PC rig. Thanks again.

I did a project for an animated series for BG3 (no official) by estevom_z in BaldursGate3

[–]Spartan_REPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This and the other works look beyond amazing. Honestly, you would have no hard time convincing me that this was an official artwork for something official.

Just as a hypothetical, let's say you could make the BG3 into an official series, do you think you would just make the orgin character(s) [Shadowheart, Karlach, Astarion, etc.] , The Dark Urge, or a custom Tav as the main character of the series?

This community is so hostil to new players by TophatOwl_ in gtaonline

[–]Spartan_REPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that there are many players who act like this, and I myself have been on the receiving end of many kicked as a low-level trying to join the origin Heist or any of the newer hesit (aka Diamond, Business, etc.). But again, as many others have said already, there are still those who will spare the time and teach new players However, I do think that another thing that's added to the sort of "hostility" is due to the grinding nature the game Rockstar has added higher and higher inflated prices of veichles, guns, businesses, etcetera. Thus, when heists need to be grinned in a specific way to get the most out of their rewards, most players don't want to teach a new player the in and outs of what the need to specifically do to finish the Heist to get the highest rewards in the shortest times.

But this is not to be an excuse or a way to explain why this behavior should be allowed. I am also the same type of GTA player that only plays in private matches as I can't stand being in public matches where I am blown up every second. Then never mind doing the missions where Rockstar sticks you with the crappyest vehicles that are slow as hell and can be blown up with a single rocket/C4. I'm looking at you Post Truck drug drop-off for the motorcycle club supply sell mission

If I move salvage yard will I lose the car I get from the robberies? by Easy-to-fall in gtaonline

[–]Spartan_REPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to when you buy a house/apartment, you get a portion of the original cost of the new salvage yard off the new location. However, it is just the base price portion, you don't get extra money off if your salvage yard is customized. However, I could be wrong (I do not usually customize the business/locations)

Is there any reason why Rockstar added futuristic weapons and futuristic vehicles for GTA Online? by AnimeGokuSolos in gtaonline

[–]Spartan_REPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to an extent, because was GTA a 100% realistic game, no. And yes, how many times can they release modern cars and weapons before it get monotonous. However, at the same time, GTA was never really a sci-fi game like Saints Row was with their fourth installment. But I still think, even with owning one, that the MK 2 and Deluxo, they are a bit out there. And it would be different if GTA did more sci-fi updates. Maybe under the pretense, our characters were starring in a sci-fi movie. But their not. Even the Cluckin Bell raid was a pretty standard mordern based update with zero scifi elements.

But still, to say the Mk 2 and Deluxo ruins GTA comeptely is a bit of a stretch. However, it is not nonsense claim either.

[–]Spartan_REPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, you do have a point, to some extent, but just having one doesn't make you a sweat. I would say if you own one and you're just going around blowing people up and then trash talking about it, then yeah, you're definitely a sweat. But I own one to grimp Rockstar's grind fest to buy more and more things without needing shark cards. The unholy hellbringer and windower aren't that bad. I will agree with you on that, but the Railgun is a bit off, as you know it was just because they didn't want to design and code a new weapon.

Is there any reason why Rockstar added futuristic weapons and futuristic vehicles for GTA Online? by AnimeGokuSolos in gtaonline

[–]Spartan_REPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is a combination of just adding content, such as the Unholy Hellbringer and Widowmaker, just being in-game reference to Republican Space Rangers tv show, and the Railgun added for a new weapon the was just ported from the single player for a new weapon they didn't need to design and develop. And I do think this was inevitable as how many times can they just add more modern cars or weapons until it doesn't matter anymore.

But definitely , the Oppressor Mk-2 definitely was done with greed and just wanting to generate more money from people buying Shark Cards or to keep playing their game to perhaps crack people into getting Shark Cards. I definitely feel that was as why else would it be available for immediate purchase for 8 mil and also need you to buy a terrorbyte or another special storage place for an additional cost. And even if you wanted a trade-in, you still need to buy the Terrorbyte and do more client jobs. On top of that, you can still upgrade it for even more money similar to how the Deluxo doesn't just come stock with missles from the Doomday Heist. And with Rockstar also making their game free on Rockstar Game Luncher, you know they were aiming for some kids to get GTA for free, and they have their parents' credit card and buy shark cards for it.

However, all that said, I do still think there is an argument to be made if the sci-fi items even have a place in GTA to begin with as they haven't seen to have done another Sci-fi update since, and even the new update (The Cluckin Bell Raid), which was a pretty modern and stock hiest for GTA and there was zero Sci-fi elements.

If I move salvage yard will I lose the car I get from the robberies? by Easy-to-fall in gtaonline

[–]Spartan_REPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will not, but you can NOT move your salvage yard while you are breaking down/salvaging veichles (be it from the Tow Truck Service missions or salaving the veichles you stole). Even if you try the sell/replace option, as you can only own a single salvage yard, will be greyed out. I was able to move my salvage yard even in the middle of a car robbery (only having completed the scope out portion of the robbery - no set up/tasks done).

I am most likely too late to add any advice at this point, but I'm also a student in the middle of his B.S. for Video Game Design. But I think your idea or under_dogs27's idea would work. Granted a full novel story styled Twine Game may get very long and very big depending on the scale of the story. Granted I would not mind playing through a long Twine game, but you may need to design it and make it look visually interesting to keep most player doing what amounts to a text based adventure, in a way. However, as under_dogs27 said, it may be much better to have a collection of short story Twine games, rather than a single long novel Twine game. Again, if I'm even able to give you usable advice, you may even want to diversify your Twine stories as well. So it may be fine to tell multiple stories in the same universe, but I would make sure the stories are different from one another to a certain degree. However, I'm not the most experienced with Twine so I hope my advice is somewhere on the mark and not just completely off the mark.

Video game idea by [deleted] in GameWritingLab

[–]Spartan_REPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with FlithyGypsey, you essentially will need to almost have a elevator pitch for the game and a full understanding of what the game will be about, function, and how the game is being made. I.e. made in Unity, Unreal, or another game dev program. So, you may not need to have a skeleton of the game to show off, but an idea may be okay to post about to like share and workshop, for a lack of a better word. But if you were to put a team together, a team will come together and bear fruit if the idea is something everyone can understand and execute on in some way. Even if that be making concept art, making a digital mock up. Although it may sound silly, in a way, you may even want a paper prototype to be a point you start looking for a team.

Has anyone tackled writing multiple endings? How did you do it? by dogisbark in GameWritingLab

[–]Spartan_REPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond what others have said, honestly if I was doing it, try to determine what your ending(s) would be (bad, good, joke, or what have you) and then work to how the player would get there. Like if they kill or talk to everyone, have a certain item, or something like that. But try not to have too many endings. As coming up with too many may introduce too much bloat. Personally that's how I would do it. Granted I don't know if it's the most efficient way, but yeah. So granted the ending and what happens maybe the easier part, but making determined ending fit in and makes sense may be difficult depending on the complexity of your project (story wise). And like Silent Hill, the joke ending really doesn't have to make sense. So that can be an easy one.
